Basically it's about the song structure. Progressive trance have a theme or what you would call it, that progresses throughout the song. It doesn't have verses, choruses etc in the same way as a regular pop song - rather a flow that develops with small changes all the time that puts you in a trance.

wait a minute...how come they say that michael is hitting back in 2009 with "elevation" since this track was played by markus schulz in 2008 at ASOT 350....i don' get it.....
