  • who can eat that ugly fish! only a dog can do this they are crazy

  • So should all meat be frozen before fed?

  • I don't know about this... my pit bulls prefer baked.

  • this dog eats better than me!

  • @misorange She eats better than me too!

  • only thing i dont like about this video is the pits mouth gonna smell like fish : ( i hate fish smell lol !

  • i thought rainbow trout had alot of spiney thorns in the fleshy parts. It doesnt bother the dogs. I guess not, im sure wolves eat it just like that too.

  • the bones can kill, there are all sorts of fish parisites that can be transfered to dogs, all fish should be cooked, tapeworms tapeworms and more tapeworms

  • @MrMisanthrope1 // Definitely don't feed fish if you don't feel safe doing so. I freeze all seafood for 7+ days before feeding. I would love to link to a study called "FREEZING TO KILL NEMATODE PARASITES IN FISH PRODUCTS" by Peter Howgate, May 1998, but no links in comments allowed. In short, "Freezing to control the hazard from parasites in fishery products is as follows... a) Freeze ... to below -20°C at the thermal centre; b) Store at or below -20°C for at least 24 hours."

  • @m0t0k0kusanagi -Yeah, i heard a vet say that freezing for three days kills parasites in raw foods such as beef, poultry, fish. It is perfectly fine to feed raw. Its what i feed my lil' dog :)

  • Hello.

I am wanting to start my bull terrier mix on the raw diet. Can you explain the benefits of fish to me?

  • @piepeace AFAIK, fish is a luxury item.... I haven't given my girl fish for a quite a while b/c it's just too expensive right now. Many raw feeders use fish or an oil supplement to add Omega-3 to the diet since commercially raised animals don't have much, if any, O-3. Makes for a great treat, but it's not required to keep a balanced raw diet.

  • She's such a great eater! Mine eats her fish from the head down. BTW, also great to see a dog in such great shape! I get real tired of seeing all these dogs so overweight.

  • what a meal....YUM!

  • cool dog my dog loves raw meat

  • Raw food is the only way to feed your animals. It helps regulate moods and keeps a healthy animal with a healthy attitude! 11 thumbs up man thats awesome

  • thats one cool dog

  • Nice post m0t0k0kusanagi. I'm a raw feeder too. And btw, to all the haters who want to criticize without knowing ANYTHING about raw feeding, do a little homework. Raw feeders put a lot more thought and research into feeding their dogs than people who throw a cup of kibble in a bowl. I'm a chemist, so I might have a little better understanding of scientific method than someone with anecdotes of their work experience in a grocery store... BUT, we provide our dogs with a primal balanced diet.

  • This pit looks great do u use any vitamins r supplements n do u work other erg walks? Thx in advance

  • that's nasty your dog is going to get a parasites infection... cook that shit you idiot..

  • @fakeusa I know, right? It must be total luck that she's never even been the slightest bit sick in the three years I've been feeding her this way! I mean, every time I buy fish meant for human consumption from the supermarket, it's loaded with parasites infection! What was I thinking? That Dr. Tom Lonsdale guy must be a total quack, along with the 19,000 people in the yahoo pets raw feeding email list .... thanks for the tip, bro!

  • @m0t0k0kusanagi I worked at a seafood department when I was a kid and you would be surprised how many live worms I would find in the fish. Not even to mention the microscopic ones that could live and attack your body over the years and give you cancer of the liver. Look up fluke worms. An yes I thing the 19,000 people feeding they dog a raw diet are "quacks" cause the MILLIONS of dogs eating cooked food are doing fine as well.

  • @fakeusa How do you think dogs got along before commercial pet food was invented? They've been kept as pets for thousands & thousands of years - as far as I can tell, kibble has been around for maybe 50 or 60 years. Correlation does not imply causation; MILLIONS of people live on McDonalds and cornflakes, but it's hardly optimal. Dogs eat poop & lick everything & do fine but they are carnivores, designed to eat raw meat, bones & organs. No one, however, is asking you to feed your dog this way.

  • @fakeusa who asked?

  • @fakeusa hey bonehead plenty of people feed their dogs a raw diet and in fact it's probably better for your dog as dogs and cats alike are set up to metabolize raw food. Do a little research before you speak to prevent from sounding like an ignorant a-hole

  • sorry may be a dumb question, it looked like a whole fish, but they i saw slit down the side, did you remove bones? and guts? thanks

  • sorry may be a dumb question, it looked like a whole fish, but they i saw slit down the side, did you remove bones? and guts? thanks

  • @taztaner the fish was gutted at the store but some of the bones are in there (head and all).

  • hey i have a question. can dogs eat raw pork bones

  • @loly7781 yeah pork is ok - weight bearing bones from large ungulates (cows, deer, elk, big stuff) are bad but pork, goat & chicken are all easily digestible

  • @m0t0k0kusanagi

Thank you for answering my question. Beautiful pit by the way

  • @m0t0k0kusanagi Pork is dangerous for a dog. Ever heard of Aujeszki virus? Please don't give people wrong advice.

  • @Locksmithbeats I'd never actually heard of Pseudorabies (Aujeszky's Disease) before you said anything. I haven't had an issue in the three years I've been feeding this way, but thanks for the advice - I'll definitely read up on it more.

None of this is meant as advice - people ask what I feed and I'm just telling them. I am not a vet or any kind of expert, and take no responsibility for how anyone else feeds or takes care of their dog.

  • @m0t0k0kusanagi Then I think you have been very lucky in those years. I'm glad that you're going to look into it though.

  • @Locksmithbeats I definitely appreciate the concern, Here's what I've found so far: according to a report from the Dept. Of Vet Sciences at Penn State & the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, as of May 2002 only 5 states had not reached Stage V (free status) eradication of Pseudorabies - full eradication from US herds was expected by 2004. The virus can remain viable for several days under ideal conditions, but is very susceptible to pH levels below 4 & above 9 & temperatures slightly below freezing.

  • @Locksmithbeats All the pork I buy goes straight into the freezer, as I'm usually buying a lot of meat at once. Since the Pseudorabies virus is killed by freezing, I suspect this is why I've never had issues with pork. Regardless, thanks again for your concern! The more you know...

  • @m0t0k0kusanagi I still wouldn't take the chance, if you know what I mean. Can't imagine the horror if it goes wrong someday...

  • aren't the fish bones dangerous(dont actually know how much bones a trout has) ?

  • hey. i have an american staffy. he is almost a year old.

i have always gave him quality food. but never fish.

is it something i should be doing???

can he get sick from it ???

thanks oh and top pitt. good looking dog.

  • @bashie1234 Fish isn't necessary just nice if you can afford it, especially since farmed doesn't really contain enough Omega 3 to be worth the extra expense, only wild, but I buy it as treats sometimes. Sometimes my big girl likes to chew on jumbo fish heads ($0.99/lbs at a lot of asian markets).

Only food I've seen make a dog sick is kibble (too many recalls due to salmonella for my comfort). I am not a vet and ymmv.

    Raw feeding

  • Merci!

  • My pitty always eats the eyes first...He thinks it's a delicacy

  • Lol! Too funny... :)

  • It's very good to feed fat fish one's a week, i do it too.. it make's their coats shine and it's also good for their skin.

She is in good shape! raw food is so much better then commercial dog food, you see your dog change in a good way!

    Indeed a lucky dog :)

  • doesnt that fish have bone ? is it okey to eat small bones from fishes for pitbull

  • It's been gutted, but yes there are still bones in the fish. Seems to be just fine - she didn't have any problems with it.

  • I agree completely agree with mhrreplicacarbon and completely disagree with Shotta2k6. Today people are so used to seeing chubby animals that most cant appreciate the natural lean muscle-y, athletic build of our dogs. Yuki is in EXCELLENT shape. She is a lucky dog to have an owner who takes the time to care for his pet in the proper way (nutrition, excersize and love).

Omega 3 and 6 both do wonders with skin and coat, an overdose helped when my dog had dry itchy skin from commercial dog food

  • the dogs fur falls off if they sea food doesnt it???

  • Hmm nope, never lost any fur feeding my dogs fish - they both have very thick, glossy coats.

  • idk why i still dont believe it heard it from a vet. too

  • To each their own - I know my dog is healthy and happy.

  • Should be the other way around. Fish has Omega 3 and Omega 6 which is good for coat and skin.

  • @805nito please tell that vet to give up their license : /

  • ITS EATING SUSHI

  • Rainbow trout are delicious, this dog is VERY lucky! OMNOMNOM

  • nice dog no affence your dog need to put on some meat on her body

  • yo dude you see the way your pitbull is looking around real fast while she eats - i'm talking about when she turns real fast to see if anyones intruding - thats a major trust issue bro - start sitting down with her food in your hand for 10 minutes before you give it to her so she realizes even if you do give it to her - its yours before hers - that will allow her to gain more understanding of trust all together -

  • I don't really see any of that. The dog is just manoeuvring it's head around the fish for good positioning. At no point the dog seems sketchy or protective of it's food. Maybe you are reffering to the dog's eyemovement, but that's just typical for a bulldog. Always looking around and keeping an eye on everything, especially it's owner. Just a calm bulldog as it's supposed to be.

  • the yoooooooook!!! come back home!!

  • No guts?

  • She's beautiful, thanks for sharing!

  • love the foreplay in the beginning

  • If your dog likes the fish I say wonderful. If it's a clean fish I see no harm happening from eating it.
