@Tshaynyb1 Dr. Rex modules can only play special types of loops designed for Reason called REX loops. As long as they're .wav of .aif files, load them into Kong or Redrum if they're individual drum hits or NN19/NNXT if they're loops.
I like this tutorial but please move slow. you lost me at the part in the beginning of the vid where you said load up the patch. what did you click at 0:22? pls move slower i am extremely new to reason 4
aww man, reason sucks, theres absolutely no freedom, you can only use loops, u cant create your own drum beats, you cant completely customize a sound and not to state the obvious but NO VST'S!!!
@ComedySoldiers have you ever used reason? it's probably the best program of its kind out there. yes you can create your own drum tracks manually. reason is practically all about customizing sounds and making your own. you dont need vst's in a program like this. they would be deemed useless as the program has everything. even if you want to use a vst, you can just bounce the track down and import it into your DAW.
@AsianChixRHott Lol he most certainly is. I cant stand people that think reason is garbage. I work in a reasonably big studio and would not be able to do what i do without reason.
i make all my music on reason too...and im about to get signed to a label, not to be bragging or anything, but im sure a lot of people can learn from me and they can give me some tips as well. but i would like to make video tutorials of my stuff. how do i make a video like this?
what do you mean "about to be signed to a label"? Which label still signs artists? I thought that most of them just makes a deal for a track or two (at leas this is my experience on this).
Once you get the hang of it, its so much better than fl. Trust me, I know what youre talking about. But thats the thing with fl, its user friendly which is great, but its low quality. You can millions of more things on reason much easier.
Hey can anyone give me tip or two in regards to adding that nice scratchy sound you hear when you play old vinyl records to a track or instrument. Lol please don't just say "use Scream" it doesn't produce the results I'm looking for : /
My opinion is, reason is the best music program ever, but it sucks ass that noone or documentation can tell how to get started XD, i searched for about 2months now, havent learned one single thing in any tutorial, because all think you know what all means from start :S
Hey dude i got the demo of the loops but they aint showin up in the dr. rex wen im tryna select em. the folders r empty. doi have to change the .wav to .rx2 or somethin?
hey man I use reason 5 I hav a lot of samples on my flash drive but I cant open then dr.octo rex.can u show me how to do it. thanks

@dan24591 or if you have pro tools/ logic youcan just rewire reason into it and use the whole program as a vst in protools/logic....now thats power
