I remember this ride, I was so embarrased to get on it because my parents would tease me because I had a thing for Bill Paxton when I was 8 after seeing this movie. But the ride was ok. It'[s good to see a ride thats a part of your childhood and part of your big interest, tornadoes. :)

still don't know why i chickened out before it even started ( i guess i was a bit scared as to how far the drop would be when those parts in the floor open up)

the first time, they had to evacuate the whole building because the tornadoes are real its just that there ?controlled? but this time the one in the end was real and it actualy injured the person and started 3 fires.

the 2nd time the place cought on fire from the gas.

and then the 3rd time.....

its pretty intenese. got late at night, they drop the roof lower than normal and they up the speed of the winds. going during the day is alright, but night shows are the best.

Yes, these are all real special effects, the twister is somewhat formed out of mist while EXTREMLY strong winds blow. I have never been on it and after seeing this video, I don't know if I should, lol, I am absolutely TERRIFIED of tornadoes lol

I agree, the whole queue including the two soundstages with videos are littered with set-pieces which help set it up.

You can't see that in this video and unless your there its hard to "feel" what its like.

It's a greaqt ride and If you have seen the movie some of the waiting line area is in the little girls house after the twister. It's so cool because there are shoes, plates, and lots of other things every where. Even a car samshed through the roof.

It's not really a ride. You stand omn this platform thingy under a roof and it just shows you what a twister would look like such as rain falling down, high winds, fires from down power lines etc....

We had an F2 come through here two months ago .. pretty intense. Thankfully no one was injured. It's funny .. everyone is scared of tornadoes, except those that go through tornado season year after year :) We are even somewhat numb to the sirens ..

I Love Universal! I have been going there every summer since i was 3 and im 19 now...BUT I MUST say this ride kind of sucks. Only because before the ride they make it out to be so cool and then its kind of a let down. Some of it does depend on where you are standing but over all its not that great.

This is really interesting to see the differences between Hollywood and Orlando. Twister ride I guess never will be in Hollywood because of the lack thereof of any such disaster on the West Coast. Still I'd love to see this ride regardless.

I've been on this ride before and I have to say it's got good sound effects, it's true to the movie, but most of the effects are very lame! I mean not to mention the flying cow with visible strings on it, and the fact that this is just a show and not a ride! Take my advice this is something at Universal you could easily skip out on!
