@tatorsal Yikes, I would not pay that much for a glass of anything! Does that brand have the wormwood that is supposed to produce that effect? I know some commerical absinthe brands you can find in NA do have a different form of wormwood in them that is non-toxic.
@tatorsal Lucid has absinthe but it was made straight up to the NA style...In Canada you can get Lucid, Pernod and Hill's for one reason and one reason only, they all have wormwood *in smaller densities than most true European varieties* and a very high ABV, which is what they are looking for...if the ABV is super high, you'll get sick and give yourself alcohol poisoning before you get enough wormwood in you to hallucinate.....clever buggers and it helps kill the absinthe stigma here in NA.
Glad you got some enjoyment out of this. I just couldn't get past the black liquorice/anise flavor, which I really do not like, to be able to enjoy the other qualities of this beer. Cheers!
@spears104 I don't like that flavour much either, but I didn't find it that flavour overpowering in this. Perhaps it's because, as you said in your note, this was an older bottle. Might have dumbed down the flavour enough for me.
Great review

I've tried lucid absinthe, at $15 a glass and no hallucinations.

@elharlock It was lucid absinthe, I do not know about the wormwood, I think it must have either a low amount to be legal.

@elharlock Lucid is American made and didn't add wormwood until after wormwood became legal, which well....meant just a slight amount was in it.....

what would you say your favorite light beer is?

@ghgnj Maybe Sleeman light, or Amsterdam 86. It's had to say really, as they are mostly all so lacking in any flavour.
