when i first read about the soulmates...i immediately understood what you meant. it does not really mean you are meant to be together or you are also phisically attracked to each other I guess, but you share moments...you have a connection, sort of a transcedent feeling. in fact, as also some people here have expressed I had a strange experience of looking into the eyes of the person and feeling familiarity and peace.
it was just an exchange of eye contact. after i have met this person two years later and experienced a feeling that I had always known him...then three years after this, the same person would become by a coincidence an important decision maker in my life- someone who would decide what happens to me careerwise and lifewise on the path of my career. also, i have a friend with whom i feel the same...and my partner (# 4) makes me feel the same way..
what more connects all these cases of transcedent feeling is also the dates-all these feelings or connections happened in dates that had a symbolic meaning to me-anniversary of my father's death, anniversary of me leaving my coutry, anniversary of starting something very importan.it can be that it's me being more sensitive to paying attention these dates though when I have the channel open...

I think Soulmates love unconditionally, honestly and completely...they love everything about eachother even the things that they may not like or agree with...they accept eachother for who they are and do not want or try to change eachother...they instinctively lift each other when necessary and forgive human imperfections. anybody can have a connection with anybody. we all have at least 1 thing in common. we are all human. when we talk about soulmates we must not label that word with hollywood labels and ideas. we are all the same and different at the same time. there is no such thing as 1 soul mate. people dont stay the same everyday they are always growing in new directions. a soulmate is simply someone who is closest to you at any given time during the voyage through life.

I have longed for such a relationship & admittedly, I have drifted in and out of several in search of it. One reason for this is because most people are too caught up in their ideals, fantasies and expectations to realize what is real and what is true. People expect that their "soulmate" will look, act and even appear in certain situations.
Happiness is quite elusive when you seek it but more easily attainable when you become spiritually aware of yourself and your surroundings.

I met my soulmate 4yrs ago while overseas. He was married then. He contacted me in June 09 and is now separated and we told each other that we love each other. I recently read "Brida", and it really made an impact on me. I have always felt that looking into another person's eyes, even on a first encounter, reveals much about the depth of connection you can potentially have with that person. However, It requires courage and concentration to find this out. Many people are afraid of having eye contact with others even for a second longer than is socially appropriate in their society.
i believe in soulmates and i know i have met mine but because of life and youth and other sircumstances we are not together and never will be .. but i believe in allconsuming, heart wrenching, crazy, romatic love and i know we have more theen 1 soulmates.. i will wait for mine! unfortunately though life is too realistic sometimes and love gets lost somewhere between the daily rutine. the kind of love i want is hard to find but i would rather wait for it and look for it then settle and give up.

I think soulmates are two people who met and who are ready to love. Period. It's not about your "perfect mate" or your "other half". It's about your readiness to give and receive. And about other person's readiness to do the same. Sometimes people meet, fall in love, but one of them is not ready for a profound, intimate relationships. They separate, go through life... But then they meet again, changed, ready to love...
When and if you meet your soulmate, I think your opinon may change. I used to believe what you believe, but I found mine and it was truly everything people say and more, spiritual, magical, beautiful, perfect It does take faith though, you have to believe it to receive it. I personally think if more people searched for their one true love, there would be less divorces and relationship break-ups. I think we settle because everyone/the world says we should.

@tugume1 Alia is my nickname on Coelho's blog. Well, I believe that it is what you say: magical, spiritual, beautiful... Actually, I fell in love twice in my life, and it was what you said. But the thing was that in those relationships one party was not ready for something intimate. And when they got ready, another one was in love with someone else.
But we'll see if my opinion changes, I'm open to that.
I definitely do believe in soulmates, but also that they come in all forms - not only in the relationship between woman and man... not only as girlfriend/boyfriend or husband and wife.....

Neither of us is able to see the other, me because of lack of finances and he because of work commitments. As a woman I need to know is it OK to run after the man because I miss him so much and think I will never feel this way about anyone again or was this never meant to be especially because he says that he doesn't want to marry?

I recently read "Brida", and it really made an impact on me. I have always felt that looking into another person's eyes, even on a first encounter, reveals much about the depth of connection you can potentially have with that person. However, It requires courage and concentration to find this out. Many people are afraid of having eye contact with others even for a second longer than is socially appropriate in their society.

i believe in soulmates and i know i have met mine but because of life and youth and other sircumstances we are not together and never will be .. but i believe in allconsuming, heart wrenching, crazy, romatic love and i know we have more theen 1 soulmates.. i will wait for mine! unfortunately though life is too realistic sometimes and love gets lost somewhere between the daily rutine. the kind of love i want is hard to find but i would rather wait for it and look for it then settle and give up.

Perhaps, and I can claim to be no expert on love, our souls are complex and grand in ways we rarely if ever suspect, there can be many who are soul mates of many facets or some facets of our soul, people we feel deep resonance with, transcendent resonance with, but this does not necesarily make them an ideal partner, sometimes far from it! I am convenced that so much is timing, readiness, courage... and finally mysterious, and inexplicable.

I found my soulmate 2 years ago....now it's difficult for us to be together in a "romantic relationship" but we know we're gonna be together some day....love it's patience and we both learn it the hard way.....now we're best friends as always been, just without the "boyfriend/girlfriend" title......It's nice to feel so full of love....

Is there only one? Is a soulmate someone who completes you (I think not) or who challenges you to complete yourself? It troubles me sometimes that people seem to have such a desparate need to be validated by another or to be consumed by a relationship and cease to contribute anywhere else. This is a huge topic and 500 characters can't begin to cover it.

I found my soulmate when I was able to fully share of myself. Paulo speaks of taking risks- I was able to connect with my soulmate when I was able to fully connect with myself. Only by being truly honest with myself, by finally taking the risk to love myself for who I am- was I able to truly spiritually, emotionally and physically connect with another human. I feel truly blessed, humble, and grateful. Thank you for daring to share and bring up the topic of soulmates!

I think soulmates are two people who met and who are ready to love. Period. It's not about your "perfect mate" or your "other half". It's about your readiness to give and receive. And about other person's readiness to do the same. Sometimes people meet, fall in love, but one of them is not ready for a profound, intimate relationships. They separate, go through life... But then they meet again, changed, ready to love...

When and if you meet your soulmate, I think your opinon may change. I used to believe what you believe, but I found mine and it was truly everything people say and more, spiritual, magical, beautiful, perfect It does take faith though, you have to believe it to receive it. I personally think if more people searched for their one true love, there would be less divorces and relationship break-ups. I think we settle because everyone/the world says we should.

The blessing of finding/recognising your soulmate and accepting them is one of life's true blessings. Complete doesn't even begin to describe this spiritual, beautiful connection. I think you must be seeking your completion (in terms of knowing yourself and who you are on a spiritual level), to be able to see , recognise and appreciate them....and when it happens it will blow you away and be like nothing in this world. it does exist and is so real. Its like magic.

@tugume1 Alia is my nickname on Coelho's blog. Well, I believe that it is what you say: magical, spiritual, beautiful... Actually, I fell in love twice in my life, and it was what you said. But the thing was that in those relationships one party was not ready for something intimate. And when they got ready, another one was in love with someone else.
But we'll see if my opinion changes, I'm open to that.

I definitely do believe in soulmates, but also that they come in all forms - not only in the relationship between woman and man... not only as girlfriend/boyfriend or husband and wife.....
i am wondering, whether there is really only one true soulmate for you? maybe a person can be a soulmate for the moment, for this period and later it ends... the world is so big, that i doubt there is only one soulmate for everyone...

I believe and I'm happy that I recognized mine, and there's such an understanding, companionship, friendship and peace that I'm always afraid that it someday will disapear or end in someway. I think that is that feeling that makes me more present for him, as well as he is.
