I love your vids. I am thinking of getting a traxxas summit rc car I did not know if I made the transmitter like your with all the bits and pieses would it work on a rc car
Hey mate, I have just got myself the non telemetry FRsky DIY module to install into a DX7. Is there any reason I couldn't install the module using some standard servo plugs and sockets so its easy to swap the module out for a telemetry one when I can get it.
Heres one for you. I know the is an older video. I am dreaming of a telemetry system that would help me with my IMAC sequence. Something that would beep at me when not so much the heading of the plane is off but the track of the plane is off and beep at when my wings are not level before I pull in a maneuver.
@tele1974 - like adding accelerometers? maybe out of one of these smart phones and adapting it to the curcuitry? Ha, maybe I can just throw my old iphone in there... somebody needs to make an app for that! Prob already exists somewhere
@Reaper8520 This is RCMR (I'm logged into my other YT channel right now as XJet) -- the FrSky would be a much better option. More resilient, more features.
Wow that's nice. It sounds like the Multiplex M-LINK system but better since yours has data logging which I think is a huge missed opportunity for Multiplex. I wish I was smart enough to be able to hack a data logging system into my Multiplex TX.
What's wrong with a NEKO-4, they make a great basic DIY conversion set (ha ha ha!) Probably an ideal choice for the project because there is heaps of space inside for the electronics to be added. Is it possible with Telemetry to have an alarm for if the receiver is loosing reception... I know for a fact that Corona hand assemble all their receivers and unfortunately I have had a few with minor issues. I have sent a few back for checking / repair and they have found and fixed the faults.
An idea for your DIY system, live updating mAh level with a programmed cut off time, eg you select the capacity of your lipo (2250 for example) and it sets off an alarm to warn you when you have used up 2000.

@vanepico No set time to completion because it'll be a "work in progress" as I get feedback from readers and users. However, I'm hoping to do some test flights in a couple of weeks time.
What about the actual frsky modules? Will there be one of those modules available, that you solder in between the PPM stream for the FRSky one? I intend to get one and solder a mono connector on and use it through the trainer on my DX6i, I too am working on an autonomous UAV project :) a very early on one maybe but this equipment got me excited about it.
This FRsky stuff is looking more awesome every time I watch your videos! So what is the telemetry protocol? is it just a 1 way serial connection or something like that? I would actually really be interested in getting one of these systems! they just need a good quality DX6i equivalent cause I do not have any modular transmitters that work!
Nice one and i like that it has a log so you can check it later as i'm not one for taking my eye off my model, well for to long lol,oh what happend to the give aways you said about a few months back ??? please don't take that the wrong way as i'm just checking i didn't miss it ;-( 5*
@startazz I'm just doing up the webpage and video for the draw -- you'll have to nominate which product you want to win then I'll get someone totally independent to draw the winners.
@DUPNZ Yes, that could be included. So long as people realize that stall is actually a factor of the angle-of-attack of the wing, not its speed through the air. Depending on the wing-loading (weight, G's being pulled, etc), the stall "speed" can vary hugely for exactly the same model so anyone relying solely on an air-speed-based stall alarm could still get caught out.
@FlyHighRC386 With a telemetry-enabled RC system, the receiver has a connector that will accept data (such as GPS, airspeed, RPMs, etc) and then it transmits that data back down to the RC transmitter. This means that both the RC transmitter and the receiver are both capable of sending and receiving a signal.
@Wilzaza The Telemetry system will work with any radio that has an FrSky telemetry-enabled module and receiver. Or were you talking about my occasional thoughts of rewriting the software for the 9X? :-)
Yes because I would do a triple back flip if you rewrote the software for the 9X!!! Or if you had any mods for it or anything! Maybe it could be a good cheap set up with lots of possibilities! Also how would I learn how to do that myself? I know it may be HARD but if you could send me a link or something that I could get started that would be awesome!
@Wilzaza If I didn't have to earn a crust and pay the bills I'd probably be working on a new version of the 9X software right now. Unfortunately, life gets in the way. Anyone familiar with atmel microcontroller programming could rewrite the code but I suspect they ran out of onboard flash-ram, hence the fact that some features aren't fully implemented.
Their is a HUD app for the iphone that is impressive for what it is. I believe it is called "sight".

will there be higher power requirements for your tx just wondering because I ordered the batteries for the trustfire mod?
thank you

Any plans on building it for the DSM2 system?

HI,
Thanks for all the great reviews!
Just one question.
I want to convert my JR2610 to a 2.4Ghz which is better corona or Frsky?
I have had a few friends having problems binding with their corona system.
Thanks

Where is the page you have set up about this? I cannot find it :s

what accent?
i remember the tv news article about that "cruise missile"
personaly i can think of alot of benifits for real time telemetry
ie prototype models, test beds etc
so i look foward to see how it pans out
keep up the good work

A great feature might be an alarm for minimum airspeed (stall warning?)

@DUPNZ Yes, that could be included. So long as people realize that stall is actually a factor of the angle-of-attack of the wing, not its speed through the air. telementry you need to put the tx in the plane and the rx recieves all that info.
