  • Kirsten Dunst is the dreamed girlfriend of everybody !

  • love this movie.

  • 10 years ago i watched this film for the first time, few months ago i watched it again. It still pisses me off in a way that i am like those guys becoming obsessed with this film...Dont know why, but I always felt connection with those group of guys, trying to explain what was wrong with their girls of their dreams.

  • For those who red the book, what is better, the film or the book? Is it worth to reed it, or just watching the film would give the same idea?

  • Fucking love that quote.

"You're not even bad enough to know how bad life gets."

"Obviously doctor, you've never been a thirteen year old girl."

I love how the film was almost identical to the book

  • omg i hate lux. i think she acted like a slut that was why she was treated like a slut.

  • these spiderman movies are getting really dark

  • @itsCjRemmel ...

  • @itsCjRemmel LOLOLOLOLOL

  • Compare this to "Flowers in the Attic"

  • SOFIA COPPOLA IS A DAMN GOOD DIRECTOR!!!!!

  • What's he sniffing at 2:10

  • @LekaStayFly It's a tube of lipstick.

  • can anyone suggest me sad movie like this? please

  • @susmanahsan igby goes down, mister lonely, royal tenenbaums or into the wild....and harold and maude

    theyre all amazing and melancholy

  • @radbadyo9 oh and you might like american beauty too

  • @radbadyo9 is this movie any similar to american beauty? havent watched it yet, but plan too :)

  • @Baardnick it's a little similar in the sense that it's an unusual kinda dark kinda funny coming of age movie thats really well done but other than that the plot is pretty different

id definitely give it a try though :)

  • I thought I saw Tom at 1:23

  • it's an amazing trailer, though...

  • This might be a stupid question, but why is it called The Virgin Suicides if Lux wasn't a virgin...?

  • @UrPantsDontMatch Virginity doesn't only pertain to literal, sexual virginity. For some, it's a state of mind and the point is that the girls committed suicide before they really got to experience life.

  • Reading the virgin suicides made me thankful for being born into my (fairly normal) family even when I was at the height of being a teenage beast -.- This film is a very, very good adaption, but if you watch it be prepared to feel like there's a gaping hole where your stomach used to be afterwards o.o

  • The trailer looks so good, but I recall not liking the movie. Oh well.

  • I suppose they believed innocent death was inconsequential and spiting their parents for robbing their youth? can't find the book in my city.

  • I figured it out everybody: The first song is Playground love- Air, The second song is Hurricane- Air, and than its right here right now- Fatboy Slim. Took me awhile, but I found the second song. Enjoy my friends!!!!

  • @fightsoap8 - I already have them in the info box after everyone kept asking, but thanks for sharing. Maybe people will stop asking soon enough?

  • @fightsoap8 It was just wrote on the description :D. But it's ok. Everybody's will see.

  • @DisasterAtBest can you say "please" . the name of song . "air , world hurricane

  • this movie looks so good. I feel so much nostalgia hearing fatboy slim and air songs in a trailer and seeing josh hartnett and kirsten dunst so young. I feel so old -_- lol.

  • Fun Facts about this movie:

    Kathleen Turner voiced Jessica Rabbit.

The girl's family, the Lisbons is actually the capital of Portugal.

  • Thumbs up if you're still watching this movie in 2011!

Amazing movie, by the way. Made me cry!

  • 666 likes.....weird

  • @starchassinn420 +1 now is 667:P

  • @skyfeverrr it's called the virgin suicides, SUICIDES, what were you expecting? A surplus of newborn babies?

  • Why did the girls invite the boys over just so they can commit suicide?

    I dont get it -.-

  • @mark7707 so can they can see it how they died the parents would have never understood anyway or they would not have given anything away to the public so. okay the gitls could have escaped but that wouldn't change anything, they wanted a normal free life and the reasons they were how they were was becaue her mother was an inhibited, strict mother and she kept them on an even shorter lash. they wanted to be gone, free and away from everything forever

  • @mark7707 They wanted to show the boys that they never really knew or understood them at all. One of the major themes of the book is the impossibility of knowing another human being. As the boys delve deeper into the lives of the Lisbon girls they begin to feel that they understand them, when in reality they never really knew them at all. It is this lack of knowledge which makes it impossible for them to comprehend why the girls killed themselves.

  • 1:15 is "Right Here Right Now" by Fatboy Slim

  • i read this book last year i didn't realize it had been adapted, i was the most depressing book i've ever read...just saying

  • hey whats the song in the beggining?

  • why is it only showing kristen dunst theres 4 other girls

  • really strange movie...i still don't get it why did they suicide in the end? can anyone tell me?

  • @xBickox just my opinion, but i think they felt trapped and smothered, by their overprotective and oblivious parents, by the whole community, who treated them as outcasts and pariahs doomed from the start after the death of their younger sister. i dont think they felt they could escape the memory of what happened to Cecelia once they were trapped in the house..they weren't allowed to move on and live their lives.

  • @xBickox obivoulsy youve never been a 13 year old girl with issues

  • so confused, but brilliant tralier....but i need to know what happens! someone tell meee :D

  • great trailer!

  • please don't talk about the end of the film in the trailer it's very annoying!!!

  • I flipped the pages of this book... hmmm. seems interesting, but I wanna read "Middlesex" Damn! still can't find this book!!! :(

  • @Lyarchik I've read both of them in the past few months. SO GOOD...

  • @3EMDEE Good for you!

  • OMG AGENT JENNIFER JUREAU

  • best Sofia Coppola's movie ever, in my opinion... and one of my fave too.

  • @al91b i love this film! everyone else i know who has seen it hates it!1

  • @jkp551 because too many stupid people don't understand the meaning of Sofia's films... and that's lame

  • this is one of my favorite films. it's very haunting and beautifully done.

  • I think that they killed themselves because they didnt want to face the cruel world because they saw what had happend to their sister - they are doomed to do bad things and pay for it, and at some point in the film, when they are trying to save the tree, the girls ask to leave the tree to die, but the guy answers by saying that there is no point if he is already dead inside, so i think, that they feel dead inside, so they just kill themselves to reach etternal happines in heaven.

  • F*cking awesome movie

  • so, would you recommond this?

  • i'd like to say i freakin love this movie and unfortunately i blame the mother a lot, they felt so trapped and she never listened, she wouldn't even listen to the father, she had them on such a tight leash, such a sad movie but really makes u think

  • @noonehometocall what a babe!

  • sick movie

  • This movie has a dark atmosphere, very awesome.

And the soundtrack is, ugh, incredible.

I recomend you to get the soundtrack ,play it while you are sleeping, and see what happens ;)

Might wake up so relaxed, or depressed :S

  • does anyone know what street the film was shot on (the lisbon's house)???

  • 13 dislikes, 13 dislikes, 13 Dislikes, 13 DISLIKES WTF!?!?!?!?!

    I havn't even seen this movie. . .

  • @VintageConversation - think about other languages. in mine the title says that the film is about imprecation of purity. so calm down.

  • @VintageConversation - think about other languages. in my the title says that the film is about imprecation of purity. so calm down.

  • the novel was good but very boring. i really want to watch the movie tho..

  • 1:15 what is that song?

  • @TheCharacterActor Right here, right now: Fatboy Slim. Amazing hey.

  • What's the name of the song last heard?

  • @TheCharacterActor Right here, right now, fatboy slim.

  • this was so devastating man :/ ....damn those parents were hella strict

  • this movie is beautiful. one of kirsten dunsts best

  • Hey idiots who didn't know what happened at the end and were suprised, it's called the virgin SUICIDES!!!!! What'd you think was gonna happen? 4 minutes into the movie he says everyone dates the demise of our society from the deaths of the Lisbon girls!!!!!!!!!

  • i could totally have sex to this kind of music

  • How can you go wrong with a movie produced by Fred Fuchs.

  • I practically memorized this trailer in 2000 by watching Mission Impossible 2 endlessly on VHS. 11 years later, I'm watching this film on Netflix. Possibly one of my favorites already. :D

  • weirdest thing ive ever seen

  • Just watched it on Netflix. Pretty good I just don't think that them being couped up in that house all the time made them feel the need to kill themselves. It was still a good movie. I think the way the girls killed themselves at the end was really creative and breath taking to the audience. I just don't understand why they killed themselves...

  • @Breana9109 thanks for giving away the ending!

  • @letsgotomagicland the movie is called the virgin SUICIDES...what else do you think was going to happen?

  • @Breana9109 They killed themselves because in death they found eternal freedom. Captivity was the poison that ended up killing the girls, the rules laid down by their parents initially to protect them was what ironically caused them to kill themselves to attain freedom from their strict, controlled lives.

Sure they could have gone away with the boys, but then their freedom wouldn't be eternal and this is why they found death to be the only true option. The film tells us that freedom is life.

  • why did all of the girls kill themeselves i dont get it

  • Well I watched it... got more depressed really, lol. Am I missing the sarcasm or what?

  • @LightIsABiatch It wasn't supposed to be sarcastic...?

  • Air = epic

  • Loved the book, I thought it was so beautiful. And, I am a fan of Sofia Coppola, but I thought the film adaptation was a little empty, I don't think it dug deep enough. I love the soundtrack/ imagery, though!

  • The girl in the tree is the young Jenny from Forrest Gump

  • This is honestly in my opinion one of the BEST Film Adaptions ever...(:

  • I wanted so badly to watch that movie after having heard some opinions and plots but finally when I've made it I was totally dissapointed - what a boring and loooooong story-no passion, no sentiments, no reactions...just some shoes :) hanging at the "cool" end. Cool as the whole movie. Wasn't a bad movie though. Good idea with a imaginative journey by car when the other sisters were dead already. But how many times I have to admire Kirsten's waving hairs ith a spooky melody in the background?

  • @bellatrix565 I agree! It was an alright plot but it got so boring. Especially with the ending, it went so slow by that i couldn't tell the difference between the beginning, middle, and end. I probably shouldn't have watched this at night, I'm so dead bored now the movie left me no affection.

  • i've seen this movie maybe 7 times, and to this day i still cannot watch it unless i really, really need to cry.

  • I remember seeing this previewed before my vhs copy of save the last dance (yeah..haha) and this is still one of the best trailers I've ever seen.

  • "obviously doctor you''ve never been a 13 year old girl " .. great movie i love the soundtrack

  • @nereideification the song is called "right here right now" by fatboy slim

  • can anybody tell me the name of the second song, the one that starts at 1.15?

  • I don't care what anyone says... This is my favorite trailer of all time.

  • @23Shinin23 someone tell to kathleen turner to go here for treatment of her arthritis.......... there she has more chance of healing ~~ MOINHOS VELHOS, in Portugal

  • @23Shinin23 who kills who?? I don't get it....?! :(

  • it was sad cause the girlz never knew that the boys loved them like CHASE AND LUX

  • ...One of the most beautiful books I have EVER read, and the movie is amazing too.

  • @vhswimmer what is the book called i would like to read it ?????

  • @jeanzzzz34 Its called The Virgin Suicides, just like the movie. Its by Jeffrey Eugenides.

  • Comment removed

  • I also believe that "Hurricane" by Air is in the trailer as well. You can find both those songs on the original score for the film which was done by Air. So, can everyone stop asking what songs are in the trailer? They are in the info box, just click the arrow down and you'll see them listed.

  • @glows that other song in the trailer is playground love by air on original score.

  • @jkp551 also they slipped i a bit or the song The Word Hurricane, also by Air. On original score cd.

  • what are the name of all the sounds in this trailer?

  • @IslandChic01 look in the Info box!

  • This movie was interesting to me because it accurately portrays how boys obsess over groups of sisters. There were four of us, all close in age, and I can't tell you how many guys set us up as a conquest, to sleep with us all. They all failed of course :)

  • most beautiful movie ever. the trailer makes my heart ache <3

  • love sex death passion fear obsession.

  • what's that song that starts at 1:14?

  • @pomping14 Fatboy Slim - Right Here Right Now

  • the song in the beginning is quite haunting

  • hey! anyone knows the name of the second song that plays on this trailer??? (not , my playground love)

  • @bionato Right Here, Right Now- Fatboy Slim

  • Fantastic movie<3

  • Even while watching, I had to ask myself, "What the hell is this film about, if anything at all?" It was a while after those credits rolled when the realization came that it may not explain the great big why, but then that's EXACTLY the point. The Virgin Suicides is not based on a true story, but one could believe that the events in this film happened. If we read about it in a newspaper most of us would rarely think twice about it and move on with our lives.

  • @backoncemore The film takes us so deep into the Lisbon family that all of a sudden we want answers to questions we would never have cared to think about, as the viewer is made to feel just like the neighborhood boys.

  • Both the movie and the book I love equally. I like that you get to learn more about the sisters and other people that weren't even mentioned In the movie. But Sofia Coppola nailed the whole sensual vibe from the novel.

  • @sketchbookessay Awesome, thanks for replying!

  • @sketchbookessay Thanks!

  • this is probably the best movie ever created. thank you.

  • Its the kind of film where you'll see the true beauty and point of it, or you just wont get it.

  • What is the second song in this trailer?

  • @SalutBianca91 Right Here, Right Now by Fatboy Slim

  • I <3 this movie. And the books even beter.

  • my all time favorirte movie

  • I watched this last night, and to be honest, I thought it was kinda stupid. The only good thing was Josh Hartnett. I mean; it was ok i guess....but I think there should have been a bit more of a storyline. And I didn't get the part in the end - why did the girls invite the boys, just so they could see their dead bodies? What was the point in that?

  • @MetallicaOzzyGnR No one knew, that's why it was a mystery.

  • @MetallicaOzzyGnR Read the book. It helps. Sofia Coppola is known for making movies with lots of meaning but very little words.

  • @MetallicaOzzyGnR Thats exactly what I wanted to know. This movie didnt make sense to me there was so much left unexplained.

  • This books, was such a gorgeous read. Cant wait to watch this :D

  • @AWalkThroughLorien im waiting to finish it still! lol

  • @AWalkThroughLorien don't know if you'll like the movie... I read the book after I watched the movie and felt like a lot was missing from it.

  • @lpycb42 i too read the book and thought there was some stuff that was left out. i think that naturally happens tho when you are adapting a book due to time constraints; i still think it was faithful to the story tho cause she insisted on using a lot of direct quotes from the novel which as a fan of the author made me really happy and i think she captured the general tone of the novel really well.

  • can somebody please tell me where i can watch this movie? please..?

  • Comment removed

  • @1993tiney Register to Warez-BB.org, I downloded $5000 worth movies the last 2 years, it's worth it.

  • This is the one time the movie is like the book, just without words.

  • The soundtrack was far better than the film. Halfway through it was just depressing, dragged on, and boring.

  • This book was amazing. Seeing the movie tonight. <3

  • it has a dreamy poetic tone,, love it !

  • @aruytpadyugf do you know what would of happen if u did??? ur lucky soul???

  • @thepurplemonkey96 Do you mean do I know what of would of have happened if I did commit suicied that night? Well, I suppose people who where close to me would of have been beyond devastated. And I realized that it would of have been the most selfish act I would ever commit; I could not bear thinking of how much pain I would have caused to others. I can go down, but I am not going to take anyone down with me. What do you mean by "ur lucky soul"?

  • @aruytpadyugf i just meant that ur lucky that u didnt cause, exactly what you said that you would have hurt ppl around you take loved you so much...thats all dont take it the wrong way : )

  • Can anyone tell me what songs are playing on this trailer?

  • @MPB059 "Playground Love" by Air and "Right Here, Right Now" by Fatboy Slim.

    I love this movie!!

  • love this movie!!

  • I could watch this trailer a hundred times. There's just something so haunting and intriguing about it coupled with the music selection.

    good movie.

  • @TheShelleyMae The band that did the soundtrack is "Air" They are awesome.

  • can anyone tell me, what happens, like the WHOLE storyy. likee the whole plot of the entire movie please? :)

  • @RobbyAndStella look up the movie on Wikipedia.

  • I never understood why they killed themselves. They felt smothered by the oppressive parents they had?I never understood!..

  • what is the name of the song in the end of this trailer?

  • @akyled7 The song in the end of the trailer is Right Here, Right Now - Fat Boy Slim

  • @NicoleDionne thank you

  • I would have loved to been in the suicide pack with them. Dying with these hot babes.
