I have a PSP Slim with D3 on it and I had a little spill on it but I grabed it in time and removed the battery dried it and it worked. but i took the battery back out just incase and I turned it on the next day it gave me Initial setup but no buttons respond. but when i go to recovery menu buttons work then so how can they ignore me when it goes back to initial setup? brightness and volume are the only two so little help here?

Haha, i know. It was easier though back when i first started when the PSP launched. I have a first gen psp(three months after launch) and a Slim finally, and i didnt start putting online tutorials till maybe a little over a year ago.

sorry to say, but this isnt ment for M33. This will work up to 3.40OE-A2 and thats it. If you want to recover, use pandoras battery and it should fix your psp.

Ok, if your trying to get recovery mode without your psp being bricked, do you use a pandora battery? (I have a slim with 4.1 m33-2 and I can't get recovery mode - I AM using a pandora battery).

i too suggest buying a pandora battery tool from amazon or ebay its made with everything to put your psp in to service mode without you needing to download like 30 files

Just Get CFW and you can go into Recovery mode and Hack the PSP and If it Bricks use Pandora Battery to get it back

For all those people who are haveing trouble hacking, i strongly suggest buying a tool pandora kit...I had trouble too, but buying a kit is the best way. The kit comes with a disk that allows you to run UMD dumper and Iso allcount, UMD dumper is a program which lets you play a psp game you dont even own. Iso allcount is a homebrew in which allows you to run ps2, ps1, gameboy, gamecube, and some xbox games on the psp. ps, i bought my kit for $36.00 and some go fo $80.00 which is crazy, nice vid:)

yeah it can, any custom firmware 3.02 and up can play PS1 games.Also, any CFW can update to a newer one without downgrading. But if u want to, then go ahead with recovery.

Recovery is only for custom firmware just in case we brick or just want to go back to firmware 1.50.

well, he's asking how to update his psp. use system update or go to playstations us site to download it :P. lol, if you mean custom firimware then you need to downgrade by updating to official 3.50 and downgrade using the game "Lumines" and downgrade from firmware 3.50. that will take you to official 1.50 firmware, and now you can update to cfw 3.40oe-a.

Its possible to do this, but i never tried it. But its best to recover to 1.50 then back up to 3.40oe-a.

you can update with a 32mb stick. Flash memory for updating is 32 MB and your MS has enough space for it.

Your ok as long as you follow all instructions when updating official firmware. But for us on CFW, we can access it whenever we want or fix it if it bricks.

yupp, thats official firmware. Custom firmware comes with recovery mode so if your psp bricks, you can fix it. sorry, your out of luck.

THeres no 7.50, the newest official firmware is 3.40. Most likely a PSP trojan. If your on custom PSP firmware, than you should be ok.

No, only official 3.03 firmare can be hacked. And by that, i mean downgraded from 3.03 to 1.50. Sorry, anything higher than 3.03 cant be downgraded.

Pretty much yes, but the reason people recover down to 1.50 is because you do a clean downgrade. That way when you update back up to 3.40 oe-a, its a clean update.

Nah, only from official 3.03 can you downgrade to 1.50. And that requires an unpatched "Gran Theft Auto: Liberty City's Stories" for the PSP. If you have official 2.71 or 2.80 firmware, than you dont need GTA: LCS.
