I keep hearing that Bay and company are going to make the new movie in the vein of the original comics... meaning darker... and edgier. I'm torn with the idea honestly. I can respect them making a movie that pays homage to the origin of the franchise... but honestly... does it "need" to be done that way? The 2003 series was good, in fact better than the original series due to the fact that the 2003 series was based more off the comics. Hopefully this movie will be dark like the comics were and hopefully April is not a reporter in this and very hopefully Casey Jones has more screen time than in this one. Can't wait.

OK yes Michael Bay has done some things to our more favorites kids shows. How ever he made entertaining movies where robots ripped each other to shreds. Now that the violence is allowed in the talkies I think this turtle film will be a bit more than we have seen in the past. I think the weapons will and should be used. I agree with all thoughts about plot and such. As long as the turtles keep their personalities and get to kick butt, i will enjoy this film.

'secret of the ooze' was proper? it's nowhere near as bad as the third, but 2 was awful. just awful. awful. wanna know why it's so awful? well, for starters, vanilla ice. he's awful. killing SUPER shredder by having some wood fall on him was an awful climax. after all, normal shredder survived being crushed by a flippin' garbage truck. how about that annoying sidekick of theres? he's awful. the snapping turtle and wolf were awful villains. the movie was awful.

The CGI movie was better than part 2. So it would be the original, followed by the CGI movie, and then Secret of the Ooze as far as which movie was better. I'm very iffy about this. I mean TMNT can be a great movie if it's done well and there is no fooling around with it. I think going dark would be perfect for this franchise something with a pg-13 or R rating for violence would be great for me as I have grown up a lot... and so have the Turtles, however Splinter should not be dead he should be there and so should Casey ... Love the new look, hope they keep it with that darker, grittier and more aged turtle look. This film storyline wise should take place 10 years after the CGI film, Splinter should be dead or near it. I actually would love to see a more "mature" TMNT but still goofy if you know what I mean. Not saying we'll see another "Dark Knight" like change and success here, but compared to the previous two films. We can very well see a dramatic change good enough for it to do well since the first two films.

You are right with that one, though i've heard a lot of the dialogue was actually re-written by Connery and Cage, for example the "What do you want me to do, kill him again?" was a Connery invention. Bay has always been good at fast-paced action, he's just awful with character development. Give him a world class action screenplay and an amazing cast and he'll probably churn out something good... Though I can't help thinking nearly all Directors could?
@1983Silverfish You're right there, but The Rock was a film where he was in his niche and it didn't mean the defacing of a franchise. The action in The Rock was some of the best I can recall, so I think he did a good job at what he did. But I will completely agree that his skills at character development and story creation are far below par.
@DimebagsZombie Yea - I think that's where he is best suited - a new, standalone action film that isn't precious to anyone and doesn't try to be something other than a thrill-fest, popcorn seller. I do like those films from time to time, but for him to have made Transformers when a film with a strong narrative could have been made by someone more like Nolan, is a bit of a crime... Though that's obviously just my opinion!

I'm scared. I want to see this movie but I fear for my childhood memories being destroyed. I actually liked the recent cgi one. Not completely, they ruined it in a few ways... But it had real potential. And that's what I liked. I think the story should mature with the audience so there should be a lot of smart dialog. And hopefully it's not an origin story. Please no origin story.

What really worked in the first TMNT movie was the fact they took from the first 12 issues of the actual comic book and bothered to tell a descent story among all the action. All the action in the world doesn't mean a thing if you have zero emotional investment in the characters, both good and evil. I'm not sure Bay can connect those two things together.

There was a new cartoon a few years ago that ran a couple of seasons. That was pretty cool. But if you dont want to sit through that watch the season finale movie. Turtles Forever meets New Turtles with the 80s cartoon Turtles with a cameo of the original Comic Book Turtles. Pure Awesome-sauce.

'secret of the ooze' was proper? it's nowhere near as bad as the third, but 2 was awful. just awful. awful. wanna know why it's so awful? well, for starters, vanilla ice. he's awful. killing SUPER shredder by having some wood fall on him was an awful climax. after all, normal shredder survived being crushed by a flippin' garbage truck. how about that annoying sidekick of theres? he's awful. the snapping turtle and wolf were awful villains. the movie was awful.

The CGI movie was better than part 2. So it would be the original, followed by the CGI movie, and then Secret of the Ooze as far as which movie was better. As far as Bay-formers go...people didn't seem to have a problem with Jazz, but had a problem with the other two robots in part two? What? I'm very iffy about this. I mean TMNT can be a great movie if it's done well and there is no fooling around with it. Love the new look, hope they keep it with that darker, grittier and more aged turtle look. This film storyline wise should take place 10 years after the CGI film, Splinter should be dead or near it. I actually would love to see a more "mature" TMNT but still goofy if you know what I mean. Not saying we'll see another "Dark Knight" like change and success here, but compared to the previous two films. We can very well see a dramatic change good enough for it to do well since the first two films.

You are right with that one, though i've heard a lot of the dialogue was actually re-written by Connery and Cage, for example the "What do you want me to do, kill him again?" was a Connery invention. Bay has always been good at fast-paced action, he's just awful with character development. Give him a world class action screenplay and an amazing cast and he'll probably churn out something good... Though I can't help thinking nearly all Directors could?

The action in The Rock was some of the best I can recall, so I think he did a good job at what he did. What really worked in the first TMNT movie was the fact they took from the first 12 issues of the actual comic book and bothered to tell a descent story among all the action. The original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had Jim Hensen behind the puppets and the film crew were from Hong Kong who were used to making martial arts films.
