Thats why I prefer my eaton m112 on my v6. No boost lag and no drop is boost. Yeah a stock v6 with a stock procharger setup is not very fast. Then again neither is my v6 lol.
if it was me, putting a procharger on a 3.8 v6, obviously cam, bigger fuel injectors, head work and programmer is the way to go... putting a procharger on a stock v6 is just shitty, especially for the 3.8.... its like the supercoupe wit the supercharger.. ford was in the right direction but exhaust was too restrictive... sorry but that 3.8 stang should have been able to wax that mach with that supercharger, especially from a rolling start.. my bros 2000 v6 stang can wax em on the highway...

@moparchris67 Maybe you just found a bad driver in the 04 GTO. I've read many times the Mach 1 is faster than the LS2 stock but I think we saw differently here. The 04 GTO and Mach 1 are pretty even, driver mod will be the key in that one. LS2 GTO should get stock Mach 1 every time but again a bad driver changes everything. Seeing as how you beat an 04 GTO in a car that has 90 less hp there are several things that happened. You aren't stock, he was a bad driver OR he wasn't racing.

Umm, that Mach sure didn't seem too quick, probably took off from a stop with traction control on or started in second gear and immediately shifted to 4th. My mostly stock Mach has eaten a few GTO's buddy!

@bharsen Like i said he must not have boost and the 80's supra had 240Bhp and 190-210whp and is a 14-15sec 1/4 from the Factory. so it will be even with the Camaro V6 he was loosing boost somewhere due to a Faulty Turbo.

@Texarmageddon My 06 GTO has terrible heat soak. When temps are in the mid 90's it slows down but at the track I still see stock 06 GTO's beat stock Mach 1's consistently. They are not in the same class as the 03/04 Cobra which what some of you want us to believe.

Mach 1's blow... They only run a high 13... My friend has one, and I ran a 13.4 in my stock grocery getter... But now with a little work and a lot of noise I'm at 12.79 mustangs just blow stock... Even the 2011 5.0 isn't fast... Unless you read the fine print for there marketing and see that the 1/4 mile times are with optional drag gears. I raced one when I was stalk and beat it, but I have yet to race one with the gears. Now that im at 12.79 I think I'd win anyway.

@bharsen Excuse me good sir, but I believe the T56 is a manual transmission. The greatest factor in that would be the driver. However the Mach 1's don't come with the Cobra trans, they came with either a 4spd auto or a 5spd manual (Don't know the specific transmission number). Stock Mach 1 will run 13.5 at the track, so if you were driving a GTO that at the time ran 13.3 then he should've kept up with you.
@bharsen My Mach 1 ran a 12.9 @ 106mph with a drop in K&N filter, exhaust, and drag radials. Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it hasent happend. Oh and that was with a worn out clutch.
so you have a BEST of 12.9 WITH DR's bolt on's and more than likely a tune... making your car a flat 13 second car as it sits on average... making your car mid 13 seconds stock

@bharsen Sorry dude but You need to research better. Mach 1's with the tremec 3650 run 13.145s stock . look in up in MM&FF (Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords.) The 4R70W will run a 13.3s all day long. It's highly possible that with a tune and slicks you could have in in the high 12's easy. issue April 2004 (Mustang Shootout.) it has a Comparison of the 04 Mach1, GT, and Cobra. The Cobra in that issue was a Vert and ran a 12.778 all 1/4 mile times

I do not understand why Mach 1 faithful come out of the woodwork and say mach 1's are faster than what they are. I know these cars inside and out. In fact I know exactly why your average mach 1 is mid 13 seconds with 103-104MPH traps, the increase in the redline is not taken advantage of because people shift early, to properly drive the mach 1 to it's potential it needs to wind out entirely through the RPM range, the increased redline makes all the difference, which most people botch

@bharsen look mate, you can say 13s, but at the track almost all the GTOs i saw racing did a 13.6 or higher, the 2011 v6 mustang that had gone out was a coupe standard that ran consistent 13s....it ran 4 times, its times were 13.6, 13.8, 13.5, 13.4, according to the owner it was picked up from the dealer earlier in the week, which from a 3.7L V6 is pretty impressive times

I've been part of the mustang community for awhile now, I've just moved on to different cars... we actually have a new 5.0L Tivot running a 3200 stalled 6 speed automatic with just a tune... he took about 800lbs out of the car and is running slicks and skinnies... his best last weekend @ Lapeer was 11.60 @119MPH with TECHNICALLY just a tune... he was outrunning cars that got trailered up there lol

@ADD8oi The problem here is of course you will find more mustang drivers with better times. There are tons more of them out there than the GTO. The GTO was very limited compared to Mustang production and the young kids that haven't already destroyed many GTO's, many of them just think they are fast because of what they read and then they find out they can't drive. Same with many mustang owners. Doesn't matter what the paper says the car will do...the driver mod is the key.

yeah I know... bone stock the 4L65E automatics are usually faster E.T. wise and hit very low 13's rather consistently... trap wise the T56 will be faster but fail with the gear ratioe as far as actually putting down the power

it seems you have no V6, and it takes a lot of time and patience to properly build a 3.8L essex into the stroked\ M112'ed 4.2L it was supposed to be... so good luck trying to push the same V6 without serious work... or even the 4.0L
the 3.7L is doing a good job being slightly slower than the 99-04 mustang GT averaging mid-high 14's

Umm, that Mach sure didn't seem too quick, probably took off from a stop with traction control on or started in second gear and immediately shifted to 4th. My mostly stock Mach has eaten a few GTO's buddy!

if you want to employ average times that is fine, don't pull the average clay pigeon unless you plan to use it across the board... on average GTO's are low low 13 second cars... on average mach 1's are mid 13 second cars... with john force behind the wheel I'm sure a stock mach 1 or two has ridden down into the 13.2ish area... but there has been LS2 GTO's runs into the 12.7's completely stock

@Texarmageddon My 06 GTO has terrible heat soak. When temps are in the mid 90's it slows down but at the track I still see stock 06 GTO's beat stock Mach 1's consistently. They are not in the same class as the 03/04 Cobra which what some of you want us to believe.

Mach 1's blow... They only run a high 13... My friend has one, and I ran a 13.4 in my stock grocery getter... But now with a little work and a lot of noise I'm at 12.79 mustangs just blow stock... Even the 2011 5.0 isn't fast... Unless you read the fine print for there marketing and see that the 1/4 mile times are with optional drag gears. I raced one when I was stalk and beat it, but I have yet to race one with the gears. Now that im at 12.79 I think I'd win anyway.

@bharsen Excuse me good sir, but I believe the T56 is a manual transmission. The greatest factor in that would be the driver. However the Mach 1's don't come with the Cobra trans, they came with either a 4spd auto or a 5spd manual (Don't know the specific transmission number). Stock Mach 1 will run 13.5 at the track, so if you were driving a GTO that at the time ran 13.3 then he should've kept up with you.

@bharsen Sorry dude but You need to research better. Mach 1's with the tremec 3650 run 13.145s stock . look in up in MM&FF (Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords.) The 4R70W will run a 13.3s all day long. It's highly possible that with a tune and slicks you could have in in the high 12's easy. issue April 2004 (Mustang Shootout.) it has a Comparison of the 04 Mach1, GT, and Cobra. The Cobra in that issue was a Vert and ran a 12.778 all 1/4 mile times

I personally drive a friends 02 Gen II SN95 that had light mods CAI Headers OR X pipe and Flowmasters, and a HD ram clutch and the car was geared with 3.55 and I ran a 13.4 in it and it wouldn't hold a candle in the wind to a mach 1 You can't say it's impossible to run. Mach 1= 13.2-13.3 average car.

I do not understand why Mach 1 faithful come out of the woodwork and say mach 1's are faster than what they are. I know these cars inside and out. In fact I know exactly why your average mach 1 is mid 13 seconds with 103-104MPH traps, the increase in the redline is not taken advantage of because people shift early, to properly drive the mach 1 to it's potential it needs to wind out entirely through the RPM range, the increased redline makes all the difference, which most people botch

Btw the 305 is at the crank not to the WHEELS, you do realize that even a 2004 gto has a 5.7 liter engine right? that's 2 liters more than your mustang, and your right I havn't raced a 2011 v6 BUT i have a raced the new 5.0's and oh yeah i beat it haha. @bharsen look mate, you can say 13s, but at the track almost all the GTOs i saw racing did a 13.6 or higher, the 2011 v6 mustang that had gone out was a coupe standard that ran consistent 13s....it ran 4 times, its times were 13.6, 13.8, 13.5, 13.4, according to the owner it was picked up from the dealer earlier in the week, which from a 3.7L V6 is pretty impressive times

I also moderate a mustang forum... we have a few V6 stangs in our V6 section... they were hard pressed to break 13's... some of them finally did after quite a few tries though

@bharsen hard pressed to break 13s? mate i had my old 4L running a best 12.3....all im saying is in michigan the fastest stock GTO i saw running at the track did a 13.64, and the 2011 was all up to whatever the owner was saying, i only got face time with the guy as i was leaving, i really wanted to run him a couple times lol

my friend has an intercooled Xcharged 4.0L... he was stuck running 13.1-13.3 this past summer... he finally hit 12.6-12.8 @ 107MPH this past weekend at Lapeer, I was there and actually went to the time slip shack with him because i knew he would be happy FINALLY breaking 12's... keep in mind this was supercharged @ 12PSI

@bharsen haha no of course not lightly modded, i have a fully built twin turbo system running at 14psi, with a built T-5....killed the stock tranny first pass....2nd exploded on me, but come summer time if ur around milan or are planning to go to milan, shoot me a message, ill for sure come up there, whether to run you or just to show as proof

that is fine, but usually I go with a bunch of mustang guys over to Lapeer anymore... I've been part of the mustang community for awhile now, I've just moved on to different cars... we actually have a new 5.0L Tivot running a 3200 stalled 6 speed automatic with just a tune... he took about 800lbs out of the car and is running slicks and skinnies... his best last weekend @ Lapeer was 11.60 @119MPH with TECHNICALLY just a tune... he was outrunning cars that got trailered up there lol

@bharsen haha those new 5L Coyotes are rediculous, ford REALLY turned around with those, ive been thinking if i ever swap the engine id just go for the 5L with the 6spd, but that would be when i have cash haha, honestly, all american cars are great, im only biased towards mustangs more haha

@ADD8oi The problem here is of course you will find more mustang drivers with better times. There are tons more of them out there than the GTO. The GTO was very limited compared to Mustang production and the young kids that haven't already destroyed many GTO's, many of them just think they are fast because of what they read and then they find out they can't drive. Same with many mustang owners. Doesn't matter what the paper says the car will do...the driver mod is the key.

@2006spiceredgto Mainly being most GTO's are either street racers or completely stock, and yes, you can give a lambo to a novice and he can run a 15 second, driver mod is definitely the key in any race

@bharsen if we wanna get technical.....only a hand full(and when i say hand full i mean not many at all) gto's have broken into 12's STOCK most are anywhere from 13.2-13.6 in an M6 and 13.5-14.0 in an A4.....if your talking about the 2011 v6 mustang, there are already people who have gone mid 13's STOCK...

nah, more than a handful of of GTO's break 12's... I agree mostr of the time they are 13.0-13.4 cars... but you have your figures wrong... the A4 GTO's are faster than the M6 counterparts 98% of the time due to the gearing and ease at which the power is transferred to the ground... M6's just usually spin
bone stock my first pass in my GTO was 13.3 @ 104MPH
after a tune, DR's and a spare dump/trunk gut my time went to 12.7 @ 106MPH

yeah I know... bone stock the 4L65E automatics are usually faster E.T. wise and hit very low 13's rather consistently... trap wise the T56 will be faster but fail with the gear ratioe as far as actually putting down the power
but I could care a less about top end or trap speed

@bharsen Actually the A4 GTO's are a tad slower. Now get a good tune and that A4 will do better but right off the showroom floor it is a little slower. I've had two M6's and 3 A4's so I do
