When you save someone, it's not selfish. It's because you care, and you want to give them another chance at life and happiness. Selfish, my butt. Human life has value. good on you man, i saved one of my friends from suicide, she slit her wrist in the shower and i heard her fall in the tub. called 911 and bandaged her up as best i could, paramedics said if i wasn't there she would have died. she's doing better now and we got her on some good meds and weekly group meetings plus therapy. you should always be vigilant and be ready to give a helping hand. these people are just depressed and most really are just looking to see if someone cares. help them.

in most countries, especially in the west, the police have the right to arrest people who pose a risk to themselves or others, regardless of whether they have commited a crime or not.

This is from a movie called "the bridge" about people jumping off the golden gate bridge in SF. They left a camera rolling on it for a year or something and caught a bunch of people trying to jump off it. It has the most suicide jumpers of any bridge in the world.
