@Sgagnot Your lack of confidence in your own beliefs is evident in your need to antagonize people for what they believe. If you want a debate, I'll give it to you. But Passion was fantastic, nonetheless. I was there, and I believe in the love and redemption of Jesus Christ. You lose the argument when you call the other person's views stupid.
@Alaphair Well do you think that a person who believe that if he smashes his head against the wall until his brain ejects his scull has a sane and logical belief?
If you believe that Jesus will save you, I'm afraid that you have all ready put a label on you self that I cant tolerate. As I don't condone stoning, slavery, murder and so forth.
@Sgagnot Wow. And see, you don't know what real Christianity is. REAL Christianity, the Christianity portrayed in this video, is about LOVE. If you actually read and comprehended anything of the Bible or Christ, you would know that the core of Christianity is love. Slavery, murder, and stoning are NOT condoned by Christians in the least. Have bad things been done in the NAME of Christianity? Yeah. But that's not Christianity. And your example is hardly comparable, and you still lost the argument
@Alaphair I think I know "real" Christianity. I've studied the Bible for some years know and read it many times, end to end. Unlike most Christians. Slavery: Deuteronomy 15:17, Lev. 25:44-46, Exodus 21:20-21, Exodus 21:2-6, Deut. 15:12, Deut. 28:68, Eph. 6:5-7, 1 Tim. 6:1, Col. 3:22, Titus 2:9, 1 Peter 2:18,21.
Murder: Deuteronomy 17:12, Exodus 22:17, Leviticus 20:13, Leviticus 20:27, Exodus 21:15, Proverbs 20:20, Leviticus 20:9, Leviticus 20:10, Leviticus 21:9, Exodus 22:19, 2 Chronicles 15:12-13, Zechariah 13:3, Deuteronomy 13:13-19, Deuteronomy 22:20-21, Deuteronomy 13:7-12, Deuteronomy 17:2-5, Leviticus 24:10-16, And it goes on and on. So it seems pretty condoned. I didn't lose the argument. I didn't set out to win. There is no winning - it's fact.
@Sgagnot Regulation is not equivalent to approval.
You only need to look at the Ten Commandments to see that Murder is an abhoration to God, and it is called such innumerable times in the Bible. It's a lie to say otherwise. It's in the Bible, but never is murder condoned. As far as slavery is concerned, the New testament verses were not condoning slavery, simply instructing what to do and how to treat those situations, as they existed.
@Alaphair Then why haven't we received new regulations? Which one of the ten commandments? There is more than one version. OT condones slavery and NT confirms the laws of God (OT) , all of them, not stopping to tell us that now we must not keep slaves. Why if you think it is wrong to keep slaves does your god not? Why wasn't the 1. commandment "Do not keep slaves!"?
@Sgagnot Slavery of the Old Testament was not like pre-civil war slavery.
“Western slavery primarily benefited the rich, but Israelite slavery primarily benefited the poor. You see, slavery was almost always voluntary...the basic types of "enslavement" are known as self-sale, family sale, and indentured servitude. These relationships were usually initiated by the slave as a remedy for poverty."
@Alaphair Both OT and NT condones slavery, read the passages i showed you. And it was allowed to beat your slave to an inch of his life, as long as he did not die. How is that a good thing?
• “Anyone who kidnaps another and either sells him or still has him when he is caught must be put to death.” Exodus 21:16
• “If a man is caught kidnapping one of his brother Israelites and treats him as a slave or sells him, the kidnapper must die. You must purge the evil from among you.” Deuteronomy 24:7
Involuntary enslavement was, according to the Old Testament, evil.
You don't know real Christianity and are blinded by arrogance and contempt.
@Alaphair However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)
@Sgagnot I debated this yesterday, and I already explained the context in which slavery in the Bible is addressed. -D- I'm not going to rehash what you didn't read the first time. You already made an idiot of yourself and lost with your first two comments and I'm done dealing with you. I do think critically. I look at textual and historical context at least, which you ignore.
@Alaphair Yes and you neglected to address the problem correct, since we see that the Bible condones slavery. It's always the same with fanatics, when running out of arguments, you get personal. It only underlines my statements, and undermines yours.
There are no historical evidence for Jesus or God. I can't ignore something that has no existence.
@Sgagnot The commandments of the OT were not meant to be kept, because it is impossible to keep them all. There were to show man how far he is from God and how much in need of redemption man is. -D- We don't have new commandments because we don't NEED THEM. Christ fulfilled the Law and we can be forgiven, following the law now because we strive to be like Christ and we love Him - not because "it's the law". You're really showing how little you really do know of Christianity.
@Alaphair Why don't we need new commandments? Are you claiming that God made something imperfect? Forgiven for what? I haven't done anything. Oh! You forgot to mention that if you don't love Christ you will burn in hell forever.
Still being personal? Do you think that JC would agree with that?
@Sgagnot Now I'm done. You'll get no more from me, so I hope you enjoyed it. And I'm kind of a Christian and you're kind of not, so I'm pretty sure I'm led by the Holy Spirit and you kind of aren't. Researching my faith for over six years and a Christian for 12 years. Yeah, I don't know a lick about what I believe, but you sure do! Psh. You're not getting me to block you. Troll all you like. Sorry to the poster of the video for all this.
@Alaphair This is an example of why you do not use critical thought: Why should the holy spirit not lead me? And an example of how little you know your own faith^^:
Gods divine plan has determined everything, so am I not led?
You really should do a better job "researching". Sitting in church isn't research.
I'm not trolling. Fun you should say that. I'm on topic. Do you know what a troll is? Don't block me - see if I care.
@Sgagnot In addition, calling Passion stupid also means you're calling something that gave $1,393,077.42 to humanitarian efforts stupid. You called building wells in Guatemala, outposts to stop human trafficking in Nepal, an education center, funding 111 cleft palate surgeries, and dozen of other efforts stupid. Good job. That makes you look real good.

"Our God Is Greater!!!"
1. Your God? Who is that? Does it exist? How do you prove it?
2. Greater than what? My god? I have none. Than stupidity?
