  • aerospacepat: Carey Bell played harp on most of Earl's recordings, and did some wonderful recordings fronting his own band. He was one of the best chromatic harp players in Chicago.

  • es el eslabón prdido entre bo diddley y elmore james....magistral sonido que lograba

  • thanks for the upload! a true legend

  • "Hooker and Steve" is still one of my favorite albums

  • He was a big influence on Jeff Beck. Listen to DEFINITELY MAYBE where Beck plays slide with a wah-wah. He got that from Earl Hooker. Don't believe me ? Just ask Beck ... he'll tell you.

  • Does anyone know who the harp player is? His style doesn't sound that familiar to me.. maybe Big Walter?

  • @aerospacepat Louis Myers of the Aces.

  • I have been a blues fan for a long time and i am ashamed that it has taken me so long to get to know the great Mr. Earl Hooker. i got introduced to him through Hendrix ´s cover of Come On. His music is great great stuff.

  • @RockNRollOverDose you're thinking of New Orleans' Earl King not Earl Hooker my friend.

  • @Unclemoparman Damn. My mistake.

  • I got the American F&B DVD and he's only on very few tracks...But Jimi surely took his lessons from him...Man, what a blow-away artist of life he was !

  • thanks for the listen. big blues fan and love the clips of these lesser exposed greats. earl hooker was definately boss.
