All frustration aside, I do agree that some tracts are probably ineffective. I try to pick ones that are graphical and straightforward, rather than gimmicky with a ton of fine print. I like some of the Chick tracts and Ron Wheeler's ATS tracts (particularly Heaven's Gate). They are straightforward, compelling, and have a follow up action. I figure people are not going to read a bunch of technical fine print or do a half hour bible study based on a tract. It has to be a fast obvious message.

I like to do this at the local casino!! Million Dollar tracts and the Mind Game tracts go over well because they look like they belong in a casino anyway!!

This is one of the best ways to reach out to the lost. I admire what these people are dong. God is calling millions each day into the work of ministry.

God said in Isaiah 55:10-11 tha His Word would not return unto Him void. So passing out tracts where people can find them is NEVER a waste of time. They'll either be saved, or be condenmed at the Great white throne judgement.

I leave them in ATM's sometimes. A Christian that hands out tracts is better than one that remains silent.

I love this 'shotgun' approach. It's so efficient and totally frees me from the time burden having to actually build relationships with unbelievers. I haven't found this method in the Bible yet, but I'll keep looking.

This is a great way to evangelise. We had a stranger hand us €50 for doing this. He was so impressed.

I have a physical disability which keeps me from being able to spend time handing out tracts and talking to people a lot of the time. But I have heard testimonies of people finding gospel tracts in odd places and reading them and getting saved. I think it's really important to pray about tracts and pray over them.

@bob2779 So many naysayers. Gee, I didn't see anything in the Bible about knocking other believers for spreading the gospel either. If you have the gift of speaking, then great. Otherwise, stop discouraging other believers from spreading God's message. I had a guy on college campus who handed me a Gideon's bible. Did it save me right there on the spot...no? But it had an impact on me. And later that month, in God's plan, several circumstances worked together and I came to Christ.
