Although I doubt this game will be anything near as good as the Medieval Total War series and I probably wont get it, I really hope it becomes a reasonable success and opens up the market. CA have simply got far, far too lazy, and are fully used to taking their community and customers for granted. A good bit of competition in their back yard and a good arse kicking from a rival developer should get them back on track.

Ranting on the net is... well stupid, but honestly, this song is such a terrible choice for a trailer. It's something pulled out of Final Fantasy.

As far as the game goes:

Yeah, I guess it is alright regardless this genre is dying and has been for a few years now. I wish the creators better luck with their next title which should be a bit more up to date.

I'm a fan of both Paradox GRTS's (especially Vicky) as well as the Total War games up to Rome and its expansions. As this is published by Paradox I just have to ask; is this Rome with Paradox style depth? Because if it is I'm buying it harder than the fist of the fucking North star!

Looks good but I can't imagine the reception will go well. It looks like a rehash of things that has already been done before. Like toohpik00 says, it looks like the Rome: Total War engine. I think it'd be very successful if it was using that engine with the engine from Knights of Honor for the strategy part. Speaking of which, you guys should buy sequel rights too!

Is this game's engine based on the Total War series? The unit mechanics and animations look very much like Medieval 2: Total War's. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I was just wondering : ]

Looked nice but think they went ahead of the period for the crusaders heavy infantry equipment. The heavy calvalry seemed to wear mail and full helm which are accurate for the period. (through some might gripe at the presence of those horned crest but I think they are battlefield viable one since small enough to not encoumber more the already cumbersome full helm)

Also think shield are innacurate should be made out of wood and/or leather mostly, metal shield are unyieldy for most duty.
