  • she is what she is,,,,and good

  • Botox or not.. She is wonderful. She is charming, and she's got the voice of 60 cigarettes and a bottle of whisky....

  • Check out Leningrad Cowboys whit Red Army Choir version also. Not bad, not bad...

  • so beautiful she are

  • My Gawd! Bonnie never fails to amaze. Outstanding!

  • big crap compared to Mary Hopkins

  • Jajajagh

  • Musica russa, popularizada no mundo quando Paul McCartney lançou Mary Hopkins com essa canção.

  • СOOOOLLLL!!!!!!!!

she sings it the way the singer must to sing this song - passionate, bright, energetic!!

Mary Hopkin did not inspire - I wanted to fall asleep. BUT THIS !!! Bonnie Tyler better than all the foreign artists figured out how to sing this song from Russia !!! She is great !!!

  • that was Sweet!

  • Pète au lit Jones has got it all wrong

  • I LOVE HER SULTRY VOICE.... I DANCE IN MY SEAT WITH EMOTIONS SO DEEP, NOT UNDERSTANDING, WHY IF I KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THIS PERSON, IF I WERE BLIND, IF I WERE JUST LISTENING TO THE CLIP OF 2MIN 29 SEC, i WOULD BE ABLE TO HEAR THE BEAUTY IN HER DISTINCTIVE VOICE... THOSE WERE THE DAYS................ I AM 36 I REMEMBER THIS SONG LIKE IF IT WERE PLAYED YESTERDAY ON AN ATRAK (I HOPE THIS IS THE WAY IT IS SPELLED)...

  • I could give a rat's ass about whether or not she's had botox treatments. This is a classic song from before I even thought about what "those were the days" meant. Now I am old enough to look back, remember the song and agree that those were definitely the days. FML now! Thanks for giving us this remake, I think it is great!!!

  • please watch sandie shaw's version its much better!!

  • Russian composer called Boris Fomin in the early 1920's, his song called "Dorogoy dlinnoyu" (Дорогой длинною) had words by the poet Konstantin Podrevskii

  • @2113Nick2113 What is the translation of "Dorogoy dlinnoyu" in English? I can sound out and read Cyrillic but I don't know what the words mean.(Pehjhalstah and Spacebo! ☺)

  • @dustymiller65 It means "By the long road" in Russian.

  • Beautiful Bonnie Brings Light To Love.

  • Warning for music rights violation; Bonnie Tyler is no more allowed to sing it.

  • No... sorry, I simply do not like this version

  • it sux ... Mary did way better.. this bitch butchered it like Miss christina on our National anthem

  • i was not expecting this style of music, i like

  • She looked the same when I met her in Bahrain at International Hospital, We had a picture together. When I went home I forgot to tell my wife that it was Bonnie Tyler in the picture. I was looking for it when my wife told me curtly, don't bother, I tear it up..Did you know it was Bonnie Tyler I asked her and she was stunned. I nearly gave my wife "a sign".

  • @jurbinsky77 ...i dont know if i could have forgave her if it were my wife to do that

  • @2841peanutbutter Well, I did something before, that somehow justified her mindless reaction..I am not good looking but it is a consolation to know and feel that your wife loves you that much.

  • @jurbinsky77 i understand, let me justify my statement,it wasnt litteral,i was trying to express how i would feal, and i admit i did stretch the truth of course, would be upset that it happened though

  • @2841peanutbutter Thank you for your reply, that settles my mind. I am always trying to see the good side of a person and now I know that you are a good man despite your first comment. I wish you a happy and peaceful life wth the woman you will spend the rest of your life with.

  • she looks like boy george's sister in this

  • @ghodium hahaha.. You right!

  • It's just amazing how many vocal powerhouses have come to us from Wales! Must be something in the water there--lol

  • I have never understood Bonnie Tyler and Rod Stewart being called, if you don't really care what you say, "singers"; they both sound like they eat Drano® for breakfast. They're both fairly good musicians, and they seem to know what "the public" will like, but singers? Sorry, no. "Vocalists" -- maybe.

On the other hand, I could listen to both of them 24/7 rather than Britney Spears and Justin Bieber.

  • Why the fuck isn't she more famous?

  • @mareckbamf

Despite your interjection of a completely irrelevant expletive, I will answer.

Ms. Tyler was quite famous "back in the day" of the late 1970's through the early 1980's, despite sounding like she fell forward while running with a fork in her mouth. She had a couple of top-ten hits. Good musician, lousy singer.

  • Great Hair

  • this is very bad

  • I am getting a soar throat after hearing this!! Her vocal cords are dead !!!! Sorry for her....

  • @artofbrown

that makes her outstanding and inimitable, what i appreciate very much, enough Stars tune-up their squeaky voices with Auto-Tune, Bonnie has a huge natural Power, even for singing Rocksongs

  • "Those Were The Days" by Bonnie Tyler is always on my mind now that I'm 78 and reliving my youth in my mind !

  • The only thing this one has in common with Mary Hopkin is they were( are) both Welsh, this one is not much of a singer!

  • и эти люди не любят россиян

  • @oleg242 lubią rosije

  • unglaublich!

  • where is she from??

  • @uveolo a small village called Skewen near, Neath, Wales. The same area produced Richard Burton, Anthony Hopkins, Catherine Zeta Jones, Tom Jones, Dylan Thomas and Ray Milland. Not bad mun...that's tidy ennit...

  • @uveolo

    She's welsh.

  • This inspired nearly every song by ABBA.

  • Yep, she still got it!

  • This melody is composed by the Russian composer

BORIS FOMIN (1900-1948) in 1924 (the latest date).

The original name of the song "On the long way",

    lyrics by Konstantin Podrevskiy.

Thank you, Bonnie, for your nice interpretation!

  • actualy mary hopkin and bonnie tyler have one great warm voice

they are one of the greatest ever

    luv them both

  • Oldtime Fav..

  • HAhah! "Her Royal Botoxness" ;D

    Great as always!

  • Definetly a bang up version on this otherwise 60's folks song. Think May Hopkins was the orginal but, Bonnie done it justice. :-)

  • @GTCism the song actually was written 100 years ago.

  • Fantastico.

    Que pedazo de voz.

    Besazos Bonnie, espero conocerte.

  • keiner ist geiler wie Bonnie Tyler

  • Now now, covering a Hopkins cover of a Clancys cover of a Russian Gypsy song. Wish us Irish could claim it fully but the tune comes from Russia and we just put english words to it. Amazing tune tho! Made many a crowd chant in Ireland at football and GAA matches. As a musician myself, if i had a stadium full of people singing my song i wouldnt care if i got rich off it or not, that would be enough!

  • Better stick to Mary Hopkins version it is so much better!

  • Classic song and she does an Awesome version , bless her heart !

  • yarraamı ye fener.

  • @thatmuse76 Bonnie Tyler's voice sounds like that because when she was younger, she had surgery to remove several nodules from her vocal cords, and was told not to speak for 6 weeks!!! She disregarded this, and as a result her voice took on this quality!! She is fortunate to be able to talk, let alone sing!!!! I for one think she is fantabulous !!!! By the way, like Mary Hopkin, she is also a Welsh beauty, and her birthday is June8,1951, so she will be 59 this year!!!!

  • TenStarsplus !!!! Of course she doesn't sound like Mary Hopkin!!!! She doesn't pretend to either!!!! She sounds like Bonnie Tyler!!!!! She doesn't pretend to be someone she admires!!!!!! BTW Mary Hopkin is 60 years old today, May 3, 2010, and like Bonnie, she is still beautiful !!! Bonnie looks a lot like Dale Evans, Roy Rogers' wife when she was young!!!! Fantabulous post!!! Kudos!!!

  • @BigDuckKetterer ,True statements !

  • Oh God, this is a travesty. Mary has such a good voice, Bonnie's voice sounds like the bottom of a shot glass that had been used as an ashtray.

  • @thatmuse76 Thats's exactly the Beauty of it.. :)

  • Our song: Me, Ting and Willy Arcellana

    We love you Willy!

  • Bonnie Tyler was one of the hottest chicks on the planet - and still is. Her voice is an international treasure and I think this song is actually well suited to her powerful, boozy sound.

  • Мари Хопкин и Долли Партон хорошо поют этот вариант русского романса "Дорогой Длинною", но мне больше нравится исполнение Бонни Тайлер. Из России с любовью.

  • @NadjaMaj

А почему они вообще поют нашу песню?

  • How about a operation to help her voice sound not so raspy?

  • Bruce Springsteen dressed as Bonnie Tyler?

  • Jeez That opening is a shock to the system. She should stay in Wales

  • love her voice .......

  • the best!!!!!

  • for this ballad/song, she is not fitted to it

  • Yep, Leningrad Cowboys and Red Army Choir are better..

  • I like her, but she just killed a classic

  • I think if Bonnie were to release this version as a single, it could be a hit in the UK. A great song for the holiday season as people ring in the new year. I like this version a lot.

  • Bonnie does a great job with this classic.

  • shush! I'm part russian& miss Tylers' rendition is offensive to my ear !!!

  • this song is abot innocence...Bonnie voice is shit on this song. She opened too long on it. Her voice is NOT this song..

She is NOT innocence, even during war....but a you know what.

  • Круто!!! Дорогой длинною, да ночькой лунною... Исполняет Бонни Тайлер - высший класс! Браво, Бонни!!!

  • English only my Slavic friend!!

  • westy, not all russians are of slavic blood/ancestry.. I 'm not

  • nadja, how is Рай благословляет вас pronounced?

I'm going to start learning how to speak russian,& i need to know the russian pronouncation

  • is she drunk?

  • Bonnie??

No hehe her voice is amazing!

    :)

  • Great cover of the Russian song

  • not if you're part russian!

  • mary hopkin is 100 times better..!!

    peace

  • hi, but for the younger generation OMG

    do you agree?

  • yeeah.

    thats right. peace

  • @vallykati : Mary Hopkin is Mary Hopkin / Bonnie Tyler is Bonnie Tyler. each has is own special style. I like this from Bonnie Tyler too...

  • LOL...Botoxness...nice one:)...great song too

  • it's so beautiful!!

  • OMG OMG OMG

  • Bonnie s version is better than everyone. A unique voice with pretty face. LOVE IT !Thanks for sharing.

  • Beautiful!!!!

  • aww i love bonnie tyler :)

  • she looks like she has raised far more than a glass or two she looks well pished here

  • I wonder how she would have felt if Mary Tyler had done a sucky cover of Total Eclipse of the Heart.

  • hmm, amazing she even got this far with that appearance. I bet the plastic surgeons are drooling over to make some drastic moves with her face. Perhaps she`s a lost case and it would take several operations like it does for other people who get their face smashed by a bulldozer or chewed on by a bear. Hahaha!

  • Bonnie is better than Dolly <33.

  • amazing harmony vocals!

  • Really nice!

    i like Bonnies ver.

  • I think this is a brilliant version. My favourite's still Dolly Parton, though.

  • dear goodness, what a lot of hate from people! from bonnie's botox to just no liking the song, suggestions, you don't like how she looks, don't look, you don't like how she sounds, don't listen!

  • @unclenelvis You clearly don't understand the purpose of YouTube comments, but the purpose is NOT to please YOU, my ego-maniacal comrade. Get over yourself.

I would suggest rather then you complain about comments that upset, you simply don't read the comments if they bother you so.

That said, this is a very nice version of this song. I like.

  • Mary Hopkin's version is much much better.

  • I hope this song was recorded for a cd

  • I dedicate this song to my friend o'11 years. We had some great times before 6th grade(I was somewhat of an asshole in the 6th grade,& hey!I don' think he woulda won Friend o' the Year eitha).I don' know what it'll be like of we see each otha again afta 4 years, but one thing we can agree on is that "Those Were the Days."

  • Great version, Bonnie :)

  • Yes indeed, a lovely version...

  • oh yes this is a very great version of this fantastic song thanks bonnie
