  • does anyone have any sort of sheet music to this (violin+piano)?

  • @246trinitrotoluene i have it. give me your e mail and i will scan it for you and i ll send it to you.

  • @031288ful

May I please have it too?If it's not too much trouble

  • Magnificent!

  • The opening chords sound pretty similar to Noisia's 'Tommy's Theme" which in turn sampled the same progression from Tommy Tee's Takin Ova. Whether intentional or not, it's interesting to see how music travels.

  • Ruhu dinlendirici.. hayat bu

  • <3

  • actually better than his "fantasiestucke", which is still amazing.

  • @hopelesscynic1 my bad, its actually by schuMAN. oops.

  • This is absolutely beautiful.

  • Who's playing? Did I miss it?

  • One of my favorite pieces of music ever. Tears my soul out every time.

  • @jimbobanalbeats can you recommend some other classical tunes please? Sorry to just randomly ask, sometimes spontaneity can bring unexpected delight i figure.

  • @SMOUSEofficial Just explore on youtube. You will find stuff you like. Also pandora and radio123 are good websites to listen to. You can find a lot of good stuff that will narrow down your tastes. Good luck on your musical journey! =)

  • bonjour merci pour cette musique j'aime beaucoup .mes amitiés lylka

  • Did anybody recognize this from the Otis & Milo film?? :)

  • Does anyone have any suggestions for pieces like this? I would like to discover more.

  • @getwhatwegive98 Have you heard the Ave Maria, also by Schubert? The Pilgrims Chorus by Wagner isn't exactly the same, but is also achingly beautiful.

  • @dom0s I love Ave Maria. I haven't heard of Wagner, but I will check it out. Thanks a lot! :D

  • I listen to pure feeling, its deeper than music

  • Essa música é belíssima!!! Invade a alma com a plenitude da vida... Será que ninguém nunca mais fará música clássica?

  • @xxDisneyCutiesxx thank you for that comment!

  • all my children listen this music into the sleep and they so happy, its so fantastic for the heart and dreams

  • listened to this song when i was a baby. just learned the name of it. it makes my cry :)

  • Wasn't Schubert such a dashing gent?

  • very gratifying and relaxing...i enjoy this piece, brilliant!

  • I love how the beggining is so modern but the whole song has a sense of antiquity to it.

  • Stunning

  • this song sounds like the precursor to kreisler and his love songs , the violin works

  • 10 jack ass don't like this !!

  • esse canal é fabuloso! classicalmusiconly no youtube

  • And the last quatrain:

    4.They know the heart’s longing,

    know the pain of love,

    touch with their silver tones

    every tender heart

  • The lyrics for this piece are indispensable for a complete appreciation of Schubert's composition. I will post each quatrain: 1. Softly my sounds cry through the night to you. Down to the quiet grove, beloved, come to me! 2.Slender treetops rustle, whisper in the moonlight; that hostile listeners will betray you, do not be afraid, my darling. continued 3.Do you hear the nightingales singing? Ah, they are crying to you; with their songs of sweet complaint they are weeping for me.
  • @jhvorotin: You are right about the difficulty of finding a truely satisfying version of this deservedly famous piece by Schubert on Youtube. But I did finally find a great performance of the piece by Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. Try searching on youtube with these words:

Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau sings Schubert 'Schwanengesang' - 4. Standchen

  • @TheWitcherFanboy

thats not true. you have to understand the culture that this music came from

  • @TheWitcherFanboy lol so I guess you're a fag like us all since you must of heard the song while posting a dumb comment =) I wonder why the Wealthiest, Smartest, high ranking people and Musicians including hip hop artists and Heavy metal performers listen to classical music...mmmm maybe we are all fags thats why we are so superior =)

  • @vigorosoPIMPJr trollface.jpg...i fucking outright say that I'm trolling...fuck.

  • The 31 of January is the birthday of Franz Shubert, who was born in 1797.

  • rediculous people who mark dislike here - simply best music!

  • Shame he died so young

  • this piece is meant for the human voice. The violin can't attain its depth and richness.

  • @jhvorotin Yeah and it's awfully hard to find a decent voice recording of Standchen on Youtube for some reason. You wouldn't think it'd be hard to find a good recording of one of the world's most iconic love songs.

  • Im listening to this because I hear that classical Music helps you concientrate on home work. :)

  • @gmallln instrumental music in general does that, no matter what genre, including metal if you don't listen to the mainstream crap

  • this piece is so beautiful

    i love it

sometimes i get overwhelmed and start to cry

    and im 15

    this man was absolutly brilliant

  • @Tr0llinator ur a weirdo

    god stop talking to me

    get a life stupid ass

    trollin sucks balls anyway

  • @xxDisneyCutiesxx

I assumed that when you mentioned Classical Music at the end of your post that you were referring to what Schubert wrote. It seems that I have inferred incorrectly and was not aware of what amclaeav said. Whatever the case may be, take it easy. At least some people who didn't know will benefit from it.

  • @xxDisneyCutiesxx

Not trying to nitpick, but Schubert was a composer from the Romantic Period. Often times, the term "classical " is used for music from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods.

  • Schubert really didn't become well known untill over 40 years after his death. The one time he performed a concert in his lifetime, it was the same week beethoven was in the country so he got no recognition in newspapers or the media, everything was about beethoven. The thing that amazes me was that he was perfectly content without fame he stilled lived a happy life even with little money and no recognition.

  • This is Germanic art.

  • Simply gorgeous.

  • I could not attempt to consider myself in level with all these anthropoids who claim to have found what "Aesthetic" really means. A pleasant sound in the ears made everyone so ecstatic?! What art thou beings, dogs?!

  • 9 . OMG. how can anybody dislike this = (

  • this is so beautiful!

  • Just watched The Young Victoria, and this song was played there...Had to listen to it again

    <3

  • Is this Isaac Stern playing the violin?

  • @UmbertoConforti Arthur Grumiaux is playing violin and Istvan hajdu is playing piano

Arthur grumiaux est au violon et istvan Hajdu au piano

Arthur grumiaux spiele geige und Istvan Hajdu spiele Klavier

  • J'adore

  • Did you know Schubert got really mad that he couldn't play a piece he composed himself that he nearly broke his piano?

  • @0Ragnarok00 He couldn't play what he wrote? Why is that?

  • @ElisabettaVS it was just too hard for him to play. He got pissed.

  • @0Ragnarok00 why couldnt he play the piece?

  • i love this song!!!its so beautiful!!

  • THANK YOU!!!

  • imagine, what other masterpieces would have he created, if he would live another 50 years..... GENIUS

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • When I'm in love this song is what I always listen to :P

  • How often are you in love?

  • Beautiful

  • AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME.

  • Praise to the pianist, violinist, and Franz Schubert! Even for Schubert, a great writer of songs (and pieces in general), this is extremely lyrical and beautiful. Though some say Beethoven is the bridge from Classical to Romantic, I think it is Schubert as well who helped develop the Romantic era. Bravo!

  • Absolutely true...

  • Well said baroque500. I absolutely agree. This piece is perhaps the great Schubert's most beautiful piece. Che bellissima !

  • Classical is Beautiful

  • i agree

  • I just love the sound of the violin. it's so soothing..

  • Music really doesn't get any more beautiful than this. I've always enjoyed violin and cello arrangements of this piece.

  • just shutup man lol

  • I worked with a Schubert =)

    Felipe Schubert.

  • Being a classically trained pianist, I've always loved Schubert, especially this piece. Thanks for this beautiful rendition and the crisp, clear audio! Please give credits for the musicians performing.

  • Beautiful piece.

  • theres no need to be sarcastic

  • arrogance...

  • Simply lovely and soothing!

  • I heard a clarinet interpretation of this lovely piece. Brilliant!

  • Beautifully written. Beautifully played.

  • Shut up about your age, damn it.

Every f#cking video, there's some ass saying, "I'm only 12 and I love this! ^___^"

    No one cares.

  • I think it's to prove that they're different from most people in their generation, who enjoy Snoop Dogg instead of Schubert.

Along with the attempt to disprove the stereotype that this is enjoyed by intellectuals over the age of 50.

  • I know why. They're also bragging; trying to impress everyone. It's obnoxious.

  • yes, but who is playing it?? being a violinist, I like to know these things ;)

  • Amazing piece of music! What a joy to listen and reflect.

  • To be honest this music calms me down and it is just really pretty thanx 4 posting it

  • @funnywordtummy u don't need to tell us -- we already know. and its "rap", ok?

  • Schubert was only 31 when he died - one of the greatest tragedies in the history of music, or even Western culture as a whole.

  • yeah he was 31 mozart was 35 and chopin 39 its cruel really
