Climate change is more than an issue of the environment. Have you thought about the inuit people who live in the arctic? Their whole culture is connected to the environment. Sure it will be warmer for them, but the price they have to pay for a warmer climate is not worth it. For them climate change is a matter of cultural survival. Their culture is based on the ice, snow and cold.

The future of society does not depend on "pretty sure". The fact of the problem is that its not going to happen and that it is already happening. You can easily say move higher but think that a lot of countries are not actually situated on high grounds as well as also that the land that will be damaged by rising sea levels will destroy habitats and wildlife. Every specie is just as important in the life cycle of the planet as any other. This is an issue that needs to be tackled now than later.

Dude wtf are you talking about? Technology takes years to even properly functionally work. Climate change is moving faster than any human could build a super tech machine to deal with it. Moving up with the water increasing doesnt do anyone good because this worlds population is already over populated and resources will be scarce. The world will collapse with how greedy countries will become. Not that they aren't already. You'll be angry and sad to know what climate change does to mankind...

The planet is projected to warm an 11 degrees by the end of the century. That would raise sea levels above six feet which would totally flood NYC, Boston, Miami, San Fran, London, Washington D.C. ect... There would be droughts which would cause famine on a world wide scale. The rich rainforests would turn to lifeless desserts. Species are supposed to die out by nature's hand, not by another organism. Those of us who live in the cold do so by choice.

You do realize that the oceans would become devoid of life, especially since they are the Earth's carbon sink and would become acidic. Considering that we can many treatments and important foods from forests and oceans, the human race would go completely extinct. No one would benefit from this. Ever wonder why Paleoclimatologists call past times when it was much warmer then now "Climate Optimums". Are you aware that the climate always is in change? Sometimes much quicker then now? (Abrupt Climate Change)Do you know what an "Interglacial" is? Have you any idea what caused the Roman Warm Period? The Medieval Warm Period? How about the Little Ice Age? What caused that? How did they survive the Eemian Interglacial Era when there were no ice caps or glaciers at all? Sea level 25 feet higher then now. 125,000 years ago. How did they survive?

a single small volcano does more damage than all the cars in the world. our co2 level was over 100% higher in the past when we were so lush. "We" are not melting the ice caps. they are melting from underneath. we have been warming up for centuries. In c.1800 the USA was aflame: people burned prarie. in part to cause rain. fireplaces everywhere. Our catalytic converters are not the problem. the caps heat from the bottom. You see rivers of water at the base of the ice, not the top. no waterfalls.
