  • Hi mate I know this is posted in 2008. But can you show how you actually tie the hook with a loop?

  • @raz0r9199 looks to me like it was just crimped on

  • Many thanks for posting this, i use these imp[act shields but have had a few problems with them not releasing, i realise where i was going wrong now, so thanks! thanks also for showing the loop technique, i have lost loads of sandeels and soft baits as they got trapped against the hook, cheers again

  • thank goodness I found this. I got a couple rigs free with a rod I bought but had no idea how to use them!!! Thanks so much, and lookout long-distance fish!!!

  • most people put the hook itself into the impact shield are there any difference between the two methods

  • For me it depends on the bait and how it will be rigged.

For small bait like small shrimps or small chunks, you will have a space to attatch the hook directly to the impact shield.

In case of big baits where u have to rig the hook completely in,then u have to make a loop in the hook eye and attach it to the impact shield

  • whats the name of this rig and where can i buy them?

  • your best of using an impact lead which is bassicly a better and newer version of this! Its prob a good idea to have a few of these in your tackle box incase you lose your impact leads.

  • yeah mate I completely agree, impact leads are definitely the way forward.

  • where can i order these shields?
