You can hear a few grunts and gasps from Chris a few times. You've got to give him a lot of credit for singing and dancing in that rig he has to wear to be convincingly short, it must be really freaking tough.
I think the mistake was that THAT "Duloc-ian's" mic WAS supposed to be up...just not until after the welcome to duloc song was finished. Because she has that one line she says by herself: "And here's the man who made it happen- that tumbling collopsis of motzy- LooooOOOOOrd FARQUAAD!"

because last time, at the tony awards they had Defying Gravity from Wickid, and at the end of the song, that's what Elphaba/ Idina Menzel does
