so they are not house paint or industrial type paint ? I did a few but from what i have learned so far it is hard to make a good impact without doing these jackson pollock style paintings on a large canvas. I used industrial paint from the hardware store before that i used art paint acrylics but could not get the constancy the only downside to the industrial paints is the nasty smell and the long term age of the paints or at-least from what ive heard.
@RWalleyTX They are industrial paints, yes. Enamel paints are used in construction and shipbuilding. You need thinners to make them less thick and yes they smell real bad after a while!!!
Most of my paints are enamels so yes they are oil based but definitely not household ones! I get mine made for me. Sometimes I thin them but most of the time I like to use straight from the can. Hope that help! :0)
Ive been fortunate enough to find this artist via Twitter, as an aspiring artist myself I can highly recommend anybody interested in painting Abstract Expressionism & modern art to 'follow' him @swarez. Hes always replying personally to questions and offering any advice when asked. Really nice genuine guy.
Your work is very good. Lovely colours some abstract figurative work too! The only negative is the Jackson Pollock "inspirations" which we all have done... Any artist who allows a bit of splash or dripping is being ( Pollocked ) it is necessary to go through this. Honestly, really good abstracts
@Whatever3114 Thanks for your interesting comments. This vid is over a year old now - the 2010 version sees a great shift in ideas and inspiration. Perhaps that would be a better marker of my recent work.
@TheSwarez My stupid ass teacher told me yesterday that If abstract paint dont have the shape of an object Its not abstract, of course he dosen´t know anything, the problem is that I have living in a third world country for too long where the only thing they teach is how to paint oranges, bananas and mandos, fuck that bullshit he needs a kick in his ass.
Really amazing work! So inspiring.thanks for sharing and good luck!
