Going through Saigon in a duce and a half during 1969 was really hard to do. Went from Long Binh to the port to pick up several trucks sent in from Korea. I only had to drive back from Saigon in the new truck. Actually it was a 1952 model, but only had 12 miles on it. All the other times I went to Saigon, was always in a bus. Great pictures, well done.
Drove it beuacup times. We'd leave Long Binh before daylight and wait at the Phu Tho Race Track for the fabulous ARVN to sweep the road before we headed to the delta! I have a great close up of that Buddhist Temple.

Me too. In 70, I did supply runs with an armed guard along this route in a Duce and a half.

Who don't remember old LBJ. Almost got to take the run but Highway one was shut down due to activity.

Very cool. Made that trip from Long Binh to Saigon a number of times prior to being assigned to AFVN in 1970.

Thanks for posting this video. I drove to Saigon on this highway maybe five or six times.
