@Ericdude2001 Well some places adopt them out. You just have to show that you are a suitable owner. They aren't that expensive though. Just buy the cage and all that. They are really good beginner birds if you have never had a bird before.

I love cockatiels. I had two(Rudolph and Sebastian). They were the only tame birds in the house. One would come and put his head up against your hand wanting to be rubbed. Once you started, you can't stop til he gets tired. If you stopped before that he'd put his head up against your hand again and turn his head almost upside down til you started again. he danced too like your bird. I miss them. they both flew away one week apart.

Looks like he if feather-picking. Check him for parasites- a common cause of feather picking. DO NOT put one of those "mite cans" in his cage. It will poison him over time. Another cause is stress, and/or lack of interaction and attention {which it doesn't look like a problem =) }

My first cockatiel was really reserved, he didn't like to sit on you, but he liked head scratches and sung a lot, until my brother moved home and let him flew out of the window:(We searched for him, and put out posters, we had one phone call but unfortunately it wasn't him:(I am never going to trust my family to take care of my animals.I have a new one(3 months old)now and he/she is very affectionate, he/she was oppressed by the others,i will take him/her and our dog with me on summer vacation:)

i read that you have to give them fresh fruit and vegies every day, but not to much of it. you should at least get them a 2'-2'-2' cage. fresh water and some pellets and seed, but not to musch seed, it toooo fatty for them. they can also eat some meats but in maoderation. they can eat sweet potatoes, hambuger meat and all kinds of things.
