Dear Phillip, my congratulations on such an engaging performance. Very skilfully played and clearly a wonderful tribute for such a sad occasion..5*****
phillip when i first heard of the tsunami and the earthquake that happened in japan i was saddened by the news later that night i watched videos of it on youtube and heard some of it on channel 5 (american broadcasting corporation) it was very very very sad
Dear Phillip, Your heart beats compassion through your emotive sad sounding melody as the thoughts of those that know The Sorrow of Angels are remembered. Your music speaks poetry without words. Powerful and Peaceful. It's an honour to be your friend. May the resonance of your soulful music be felt in heaven and beyond as it does for us in the "hear" and now. Peace, Paul
@douglassmcann Thank you Douglas. I have a passion for adagios, also for counterpoint. Bach and Chopin are the two composers I return to again and again. Melody for me will always be the most sovereign component in music making. Blessings!
I wish to thank everyone sincerely once more for their kind and thoughtful comments. So as not to deflect from my sole/soul reason for uploading this piece, I have chosen in this instance not to respond individually to your comments but rather let them stand alone as if in their own silence as a part of this, my prayer.
To everyone who has visited this post I thank you deeply for the thoughts and feelings shared. I hope in some small measure my work here offers a tiny cleft of peace away from this world's ills.
Very very beautiful music and hommage to the victims. Thanks for all your art and all your nice words. I'm also sad when I see the disaster. I can't express it , not only because my english is bad, but because all that is horrible and I have no words enough ... I just wish and pray...
I think you are right, music takes up where words leave off to expressthe inexpressible. This composition expresses what I'm sure we all feel for those who have suffered so much devestation and death of late and especially the people of Japan.
That is exactly the question I constantly ask myself: With such disasters happening - such as in Australia and in Japan - without our control, why, WHY do we wage war and terrorism - things we COULD control if we wanted? Has human life really become so cheap?
Your work is beautiful and very moving. A great and fitting tribute. Thank you Phillip.
Beautiful tribute. These days ones emotions are drawn in so many directions. Unfortunately, for us, as far as nature is concerned humans are not a very good idea. Remove us from the equation and nature will find its own balance, but this is little consolation for those who are suffering these tragedies. Thanks for posting this. It gave me a moment of pause.
Yes my dear Australian friend, the world seems to be experiencing lately so many tragedies and so many families are being devastated as a result. I personally believe such is part of the great scheme of things, but that doesn't make it any easier to cope with. Your music reflects the tragedy, desperation and sorrow associated with it all.
@blogursky Thank you. I'm glad you like it.

Phillip, yours is a unique, spiritual & poetic musical voice, yet this music makes
me think of J.S. Bach as it moves inexorably forward in time punctuated by eloquent
silences like great muffled cries of pain. Through your creation, we bear intimate
withess to the human tragedy in Australia and a renewal of faith in humanity's
latent courage, empathy and healing life force. Thank you for bringing us
together in musical prayer for the transformation of despair into recovery.
Bravo!
