This and the 240 MPH plus speeds it what led to the introduction of the normally aspirated motors which were designed to reduce speeds to about 215 in 1997.
Youre right but the racing in IRL is way more exciting than Nascar. Nascar is only popular because of the advertising. think about it. how many commercials does IRL have compare the tons of Nascar commercials. IRL's fault and they are paying for it. Plus Tony George screwed it up.
Yeah i know too much advertising. But i guess thats how they "Pay the bills" as Larry McRenolds would say it. I'm a fan of both Nascar and IRL. But what got me to notice Nascar more was the commercials. They both have good racing but i think IRL is more better imo. Nascar is more like chess, cutting laps and race the last 10 laps while IRL are always on the edge, full throttle 230mph racing. Nascar is very popular, but popular always doesnt mean better. The drop in ratings prove that.
@ronin29607 Thats funny..... I've watched I don't know how many IRL races and they are all boring as hell. Nascar actually has side by side racing 90% of the race. IRL is a big game of follow the leader.
@4Tracer Thats kool getting a reply from a comment I posted 3 years ago lol. Yes when i posted my comment IRL was exciting. It sucks now. But wait til IRL get the turbo engines, it'll be awesome again. As for nascar I like the All star race, Daytona, Talladega, Bristol and Martinsville. The rest of the Racing on the same cookie cutter Mile and a half tracks IMO are boring as hell. the first 20 laps are fun then you'll see them 2 hours single file. I fell asleep at the Coke 600. Atlanta was ok.
@ronin29607 Sorry, I didn't notice the date. Youtubes comment system sucks now lol. And I agree with you, the cookie cutter tracks are boring as hell. But it has gotten better with the new spoilers, hell even homestead was entertaining this year and it is normally the most boring race on the circuit.
@4Tracer Yes I like the car with the spoiler cause it made the racing better and it looks like a stock car, not an import lol. Not knockin imports hell i own one myself. The wing made it look ridiculous. I cant wait to see when they debut the new front end (with no splitter) makes the car look like a bullet and reminded me of the slick stock cars of the 90's. I loved the Chevy Lumina.
@ronin29607 Me and you both. The only thing entertaining about the cars when they had the Wing was the crashes. Not that I like watching crashes because sometimes they scare the hell out of me, but I love it when the drivers are unhurt and we can see how bad ass the crash really was lol. But hopefully the new front end will make the racing that much more exciting.
well i guess theres a shitload of jerks now, wont be any indycar drivers left soon, all jerks...btw anyone who calls nascar "neckcar" is a racist...get it...race-ist, ahahahahaha no
