  • great video. i think it would have been an even more powerful message, if he went back into the room.

  • I do not know wat to think of that... amazing animating but i got really sad after i watched it.

  • it is kind of like... the reflection was everyones reflection in the mirrors and you know how you cant go through a mirror. and when it broke its like the reflection was free to go out . thats why i think it looked back before going .

  • Was that Zach at 3:10?

  • Like Stargate!!!

  • This video made me sad for absalutely no reason at all... I felt like I wanted to cry. BUT WHY?!?!?!?!

  • @CSTbros Me to!!!!

  • where did u get your minifigs

  • how do u make these lego videos?

  • @hrenthor its called stop motion

  • Truly phenomenal acting by a guy who never spoke or even changed his facial expression ;)

  • This was a great vid man

  • SpartanE78: im sad and some what happy. I think the smiley faces are cute, With that i think the measage is Never forget yourself you are you and no one can take your thoughts.

  • That is amazing!

  • What is the song called?

  • Flawless artwork! That was extreemly amazing. Nice work : )

  • It is very very good...it is like two twins or friends were separated from eachother then goes to the real world.

  • It is very very good...it is like two twins or friends were separated from eachother then goes to the real world.

  • its like two best friends that were seperated and then it comes back to realality...very,very,very good work on that.

  • its like two best friends that were seperated...very,very,very good work on that.

  • WOW........ REALLY GREAT WORK....... :'(

  • When you have failed, your the one who blocks the path.

If you wish to overcome, you must break the shaft.

If you succeed, you will not believe, that it still surrounds you, modern society.

  • this made me cry! =;) its beautiful.....thank you for making this vid........

  • :0 MEEEE Must...Touch,Self....Phedofilia....

  • seriously? people disliked this?? how can people dislike a true inspiring peice of art like this one

  • Truly Epic

  • Wow.....that was deep....for lego....

  • Mirrors are just openings to another worlds, we just don't know how to get there.

  • Did you use 1 or 2 same looking minifigures to make this?

  • @McSaibot Two minifigs.

  • @ZachMG Couldn't u just use the mirror effect on an editor too?

  • wow, lego can be that deep? awsome vid man. almost made me cry :')

  • i think this guy is a bit better than xxxfancypantsxxx, but i like them both

    check out my videos

  • where are there eyebrows???

  • i get it. This lego man only sees a reflection and mistakes it for reality and then he 'breaks' the illusion and discovers the real world of only one perspective. Anyway that's a lot in just a little lego film, the director has some serious talent.

  • @goldengun872 It's called subtext.

  • omg allegory and the cave i remember that my class had to do a huge project and discussion of that!!!

  • im confused...desufnoc mi

  • I've always been kinda creeped out by mirrors... I always feel like the guy in there

  • Dude

You r truly the Lego video master

  • the best video of lego of the world!

  • .....holy.........crap........

  • Why was he in there I nearly cried:(

  • i don't no how but it's very touching/emotional, dont no why?

    great work.

  • This makes me emotional and I don't know why...

  • really it makes u think about how life really is and how its not always trap in a box it touching and 5/5 and also it is very clean on the photos

great love it but i feel sad in a way with the music

  • cool now that sides have shifted around I can learn from the other perspetive and acknowledge as if I were the other ..logos.

...and of course bad karma goes with them and good dharma goes with me. :D

  • ok, one of the guys goes into the real world one of them goes into space (Im guessing because of the stars) correct me if Im wrong

  • I... Um... WOW!

  • Simply beautiful! 100/5!

  • you know if you put your skill to more then just legos, you could be able to do some great thigs, and probably really cool to work with

  • Beautiful.

  • i understood teh Platos cave allegory, it's lyke, ppl who live their lives isolated in the shadows then wen the ppl finally become free, they understand that reality isn't only just shadows of yourselves.

  • That's touching =)

  • strange, but nice

  • Only one word. Amazing.

  • cool

  • it was not funny.......... just awesome

  • AWESOME!!! REALLY AWESOME!

  • I never knew lego could be so deep.

  • I do not understand Platos cave allegory, but the animation was great and it was fun to watch

  • Cool.

  • Don't get the whole video. But cool anyway.

  • Plato imagines a group of people who have lived chained in a cave all of their lives, facing a blank wall. The people watch shadows projected on the wall by things passing in front of a fire behind them, and begin to ascribe forms to these shadows. According to Plato, the shadows are as close as the prisoners get to seeing reality. He then explains how the philosopher is like a prisoner who is freed from the cave and comes to understand that the shadows on the wall are not constitutive of

  • reality at all, as he can perceive the true form of reality rather than the mere shadows seen by the prisoners. He was speanding his life In a dark room, Watching his shadows and thinking it was a human and reality, and then he broke free

  • I thought that it was great! I was basically crying!!! I LOVE your videos!!!!!!

  • Great animation, lighting and effects. But.... I don't get it. Sorry. But I guess that's just me.

  • Woah, I posted a comment here a long time ago and I think I said something like: "Fuck you, bitch" :S

And someone answer to me: "Then, you don't understand the concept" ... but I wasn't talking to ZachMG !!!! It was an answer to a badass who said a bad comment like: "OmFg U suxxxx"

    D:

By the way, just amazing. :)

  • Very well done. This makes my stop motion look terrible. I need improvement...

  • What is the name of the song? Duke has lots of songs :P

  • It was an original piece by him. I'm not sure if it has a title.

  • Found it. Same title as the video.

  • @ZachMG why would a song not have a title?

  • @lilgreengal101 The score was written specifically for the film, and I don't recall if the composer gave it a specific title when he sent it to me.

  • Proof that Brickfilms can be very serious.

  • wow. It almost made my cry at the end. But what happened? I sneezed. LOL

  • The best lego movie I have seen in my life. It is touching, really...

    The best...

  • OK everyone, plaese don't attack me. I honestlly didn't get it. Did he mean that we are a dark side and the guy went to the light place? I SOOOOO CONFUSED!

  • yeah i didnt get it too

  • tthis made me sad,but then again happy

  • That was amazing. Brilliant music, quite moving! Overall Wow! That must have taken ages!

  • a little bit booring, but verry nice lights! 4/5

  • The Duke can make some great music. :)

  • I agree with PHYLON35, and how do you do the great animation?

  • Alot of patience! =D

  • this should be used in a movie

  • it was very sad at the beggining

  • your movies are the best

  • i thought this was very good! love the music.

  • overall good film though :')

  • make a video how to do lego animations

  • Well that's got to be my 'Youtube Highlight of the week' :)

  • Great job bro.

  • This is the best brickfilms i've ever watched.

  • can you please reply, what framerate do you film out, and did you use two minfigs or did you just do a mirroring thing in the computer???? and this film is very touching.... i dont know why but it is...

  • I shot this at 15 fps, like usual, and I used two minifigs.

  • jeezzzzzzz how did you do the mirror effect?

  • I agree with gunggung1 I don't really get it what does it mean?

  • oh dude this video is so lovly i like it

  • Cross your eyes a little at 1:17 it looks 3D

  • I saw A Zach MG cameo on a Skateboard!

  • i would laugh if it said on the top of the building HALL OF MIRRORS XD

  • dude you are lyk the god of stop-motion! for some reason tht just said something to me

  • all stars great emotion amazing my fav on youtube!

  • ok so i read part of the wiki

article, and it said that the shadows on the wall weren't actually shadows they were reality

so when the lego man busted the glass open

he was in reality. And finds out that they were not shadows?

is that the point? correct me if i'm wrong

  • There's no real right or wrong answer, it's pretty much however you interpret it. Just remember that this isn't a direct adaptation of Plato's Allegory, just mostly inspired by it.

Though I think in the allegory, the shadows on the wall represented a false reality that the prisoners didn't realize because they had never experienced true reality themselves.

  • i dont quite get it

  • lol

  • nice it is emotional but still an awsome movie. love it!

  • Ni-i-ce.

  • The camera switched between the two figures. The camera starts on the figure on the right, then in between the two, then moves to the figure on the left. That's why the hands swapped.

  • But did you use any mirrors like this?: One over here|-|and one over here?

    |: Mirror

  • awesome

  • whoa!! that was so amazing!!!

    I'm lovin' it

  • This could make a great movie!!! I agree with readysteadydude.

    Awsome vid!!

Most of your videos are awesome too.

  • awesome

  • beautiful !!!

this could be a good movie !!!!

  • Mind Blowing.

  • EPIC!

  • Great job!

  • did u do two minifigs and try and do it urself or do it with a mirror thing on ur pc?

  • Two minifigs, which also meant two separate light setups. You can imagine how much of a pain in the ass getting both to match up close-to-perfectly was. :P

  • that was such amazing pure animation

  • i kind of agree with LegoAnimator1231 you should get an animation job

  • Very touching. Excellent work, MGS!

  • I think he just use a mirror efect

  • i don't understand the point of this video, lucas. Not in a mean way.

  • that should be considered great art!

  • you have to be very sad about that you have this really good film so much time on you tube and that it only has been seen for about 16.000 . the film is really good!

  • Amazing...

  • beautiful and well done
