Haley made it to 3rd in a last ditch effort for real talent to make it into the finale. But alas we could not overcome the tidal wave of country crazies. Only reason Scotty and Lauren made it as far as they did is because of their authentic hick accent and chosen genre. If Lauren had performed like this during one of her solos I wouldn't begrudge her as much, but she didn't. 25 million votes is nothing to sneeze at and would have gotten anyone into the finale in any other year.

This was the first time I was seriously impressed with Lauren's vocals. I'm a huge Haley fan, but Lauren was stronger on this song, I thought. And for all you prudes who can't handle Haley's dance moves (please, get real - having a cardiac over this?), I assume you changed channels for half of the guest performances on AI. But yeah, once again Haley shows she can do just about anything. Lauren has a good set of pipes, if only she had showed more variety it would have been cool.

Haley and Lauren are both good singers, but Haley has so much more to offer. That and the fact that every duet Haley does, she never sings out the other person, even when she sang with Tony Bennett. Lauren on the other hand is trying so hard to sing out Haley in this "duet", while Haley is just trying to sing it like it's a team effort. Haley Is far better than any other contestant that was in this season, and she will go very very far.

I really love Lauren's voice, but I can't get over the fact that every time she covers a song, she sounds EXACTLY like the original. there's nothing authentic she puts into any performance. Nothing much to make it her own. Haley, on the other hand, always brings something different. I love that. Funny thing is this probably Lauren's best vocals. It seems Haley sparked something in her. All this comparing the two using this song is pointless. It's a duet and they are performing as one not to see who can stand out more than the other. That's what makes this performances so awesome is they aren't trying to out sing each other, they are performing and the presentation is amazing.

It's a complementary duet. Haley sang perfectly with vocal fry allowing her to rocking in low-middle notes balancing Lauren's high notes. Lauren had a powerful voice but pushing it too hard. If anything, Haley sang more conveniently.

Here again she is spectacular, and brings Lauren along with her so that they both look/sound like stars and both get the kudos.
