I do remember Claudio Abbado still from his "Arkaden Konzerte" in Germany, back in the early 1970ies. The Berliner Philharmonic and Claudio Abbado is a brilliant match. And Franz Schubert's music is the cherry on the top! Thank you.

Abbado's is the greatest recording of the incidental music from Rosamunde ever made. And this is one of the most beautiful selections in it.

I believe he hasn't used one for quite some time now, especially with music like this. There are clips of him with BP in Italy in 2002 where he doesn't use a baton either.

Yes, that's really a great idea. For a few Euros you can sit back, relax, enjoy this marvellous orchestra - and it is always open for everybody. I think they did a great job creating the DCH.
