The climate is changing, but I believe, for the moment, our contribution to this is limited in the worst case. Co2 in excess of what our vegetation can convert back into oxygen is bad, but we're not releasing nearly enough for it to affect us yet. It'll take centuries before any serious increase in temperature.

This said, just because it's not a monumental issue right this second, doesn't mean we should act like it'll never become a problem. Research into alternative fuels is awesome.

In the same way that distance is not the same thing as speed, energy is not the same thing as power! "Watts per hour" doesn't make an awful lot of sense (that sounds like the electrical equivalent of acceleration) and when you say 1.35lbs of carbon produces 1KW that demands the question "for how long?"
