@toolfreak4157 i recommend u read DIANETICS as that is the heart and soul of the movement, but as to the expansion of it into church conformity and ETs, etc... it just went too far... but DIANETICS is largely based on Hubbard's work with post WWII vets as to "auditing" them (psych help)... he differentiates himself explicitly from the psychological and psychiatric fields especially but its really just another form of therapy... useful ideas of self reflection... I was involved in Scientology about 20 years ago and believe me when I say they can be very very persuasive and minipultive presence. They took all my money, well it was all i had at the time, they just kept on taking more and more. I must say people need to be very very careful when dealing with Scientology.

I remember looking into Scientology when i was a young man while going through a really hard time in my life, like 19 years old. Pre-internet, pre cell phones. I'm open mined, critical thinker....which is why I gave Scientology a try after reading Dyanetics. Well after I started watching videos of L Ron, I immediately started having doubts. I saw a bloated, pasty, egocentric sociopath. Consider the source, unhealthy, fat, married several times, chain smoker etc...unimpressed.
