The second this song came on I completely stopped in my tracks, slackjawed and just sat there for at least ten minutes, bowled over by the music, swept away in a nostalgic whirlwind. i can't remember if i cried. i haven't played it since. it's too much.
This was the only final fantasy game I played as a kid that really TOOK me to another place. the music accompanied with the visuals, it really felt like that place had a soul.
I completed this game today, stayed up until half 6 in the morning to do it. I'd been playing it on and off for 14 years, started when I was 7, i'm 21 now. And I have no shame in admiting I cried my eyes out when it had finished, that it was finally over after all those years. It's more than a game, it's a way of life, no game will ever come close. Thank you FFVII.

the more i think about it, i think it was kinda wack that cloud loved aeris and not tifa, tifas the one he grew up with joined soldier for, he had just met aeris and he acted all in love, i think he shoulda feel for tifa....(then she die instead....nvm) but thatd make a much more touching story too me, take out cloud and aeris' "connection"...but then again that game was basically as close as to perfection as u could get sooo i guess i should shut up now...
You should go replay the game man. Cloud and Tifa wind up together, it's canon. They make love the night before going to fight Sephiroth. It's in the Ultimania Omega and everything. Cloud didn't really have feelings for Aeris/Aerith, that was just the leftover shit from Zack in his head.

(Explaining how Cloud got Jenova's cell, since regular troops don't get cell injection) Cloud and Zack are both "repaired" after the Nibleheim massacre and they later fled the repairing facility to Midgar. The conclusion is Zack being shot down and Cloud arrived in Midgar with no recollection except that he is a first-class SOLDIER.

Do you not think people will try to change it? Do you know how lucky Halo fans were to get this kind of anniversary edition? It is the original AND a new looking game. But for something like FF7 there would be no possibility of such a thing, it would probably just be different. Best bet would be an HD release, like MGS and Splinter Cell are getting, but it's already on PSN so there is no point in that. (whole point on MGS/SP HD is that most can't be played on new consoles)
The first time I played this game I rooted for Tifa. After I found out she was pining for a boy who talked to her once, I started leaning towards Aeris.

I actually first remembered Tifa for her fighting style and rediculously long hair for that fighting style... At that time, every game I had ever seen had many female characters with large breasts, so that wasnt a big deal. Most still do to this day, actually.

Do you not think people will try to change it? Do you know how lucky Halo fans were to get this kind of anniversary edition? It is the original AND a new looking game. But for something like FF7 there would be no possibility of such a thing, it would probably just be different. Best bet would be an HD release, like MGS and Splinter Cell are getting, but it's already on PSN so there is no point in that. (whole point on MGS/SP HD is that most can't be played on new consoles)
