This is a bald-faced lie. It's bad enough for McCain to bring up this lie about Romney 3 days before the FL primary but to Huckabee to step in a support McCain's lie is shameful - add it to the pile of reasons Huckabee is unqualified to be our nominee in 2012 including the Christian Leader ads, the slam on Mormonism, eating fried squirrel in college and supporting in-state tuition for illegals. Nice guy, but a liar, not a leader.
Now take all of the Huckabee's above and substitute the name Romney. Huckabee and Romney are basically the same, as compared to McCain. Yet, Huckabee supports McCain the
liberal. The only conclusion that anybody can arrive at is this: Huckabee, the former ordained Baptist Preacher, hates anything Mormon. And that is pure, plain and simple bigotry.
Mike Huckabee is a decent man. He has no chance of winning the nomination. He should withdraw. But he won't. He would rather have Hillary as president than a Mormon as president. And he knows that as long as he continues to run, he will draw votes away from Romney. Such a shame for someone who claims to be Christian.
Romney called for milestones, benchmarks, goals, etc. What is the alternative? Just an indefinite occupation with no program or mission objective to get our troops home?
Romney is for "milestones" and benchmarks because that is the correct position to have. You would be a terrible leader if you weren't setting goals and trying to complete them in a timely manner. This is different than publicly saying, "we are out by this date no matter what" which is what makes McCain dishonest on this point.
I have to admit - and I don't mean this sarcastically. I don't get why so many people like Romney. He seems to me the most fake plastic guy to ever run for office. He seems more fake than Edwards - and I didn't know that was possible. I just don't trust him. All his changing of views coinciding perfectly with where he is running is just too much for me. If he wins the primary it will be hard to pull that lever come November.
I'll pull the lever for whichever Republican nominee who happens to win the Primary.
I will do this knowing that all these folks in politics have to jump through ridiculous hoops in a pretty silly process with media spin on everything. I would have no problem voting for McCain, knowing that he is just playing the game that all politicians have to play.
Huckabee did well in the debate by the way. I would prefer him over McCain. McCain is so one dimensional. All he does is talk about military and nothing else. There is more to being President of the United States.
silliness. are you a CFR dog as well? huckabee is a CFR dog just like obama, clinton, and mccain. we had less than four candidates this season who actually did any of their own thinking. all the rest are CFR neoconservative pawns. RESEARCH WHAT I AM SAYING BEFORE YOU RESPOND TO ME OTHERWISE YOUR RESPONSE MEANS NOTHING. our media is lying to us
i am a fan of fiscal responsibility. if the congress wants to vote to fund the war in iraq then they should put it in the fucking budget. none of this 'emergency spending' bullshit. i am also a fan of small government. i don't believe the CFR-sponsored federal reserve should have the right to regulate the value of our currency with absolutely no accountability. i am a fan of non-intervention. if ron paul stands for these principles then i am a fan of ron paul.
hey smpf38, mccain and romney are both members of the CFR. they're puppets for the CFR agenda. barack obama and hillary clinton were also members of the CFR. the media is lying to us about so much... no matter who you vote for this november, we are staying in iraq forever, and no matter who you vote for, we are going to bomb iran as well. it all started when saddam threatened to start selling oil in euros instead of US dollars. DO THE RESEARCH BEFORE YOU RESPOND TO ME, OTHERWISE IT MEANS NOTHING
What secret withdrawal? Are these two insane? He said what any reasonable person would say, that the US should force the inept Iraqui government to take some steps so we dont have to be in Iraq forever (like McNut suggests).
It's so obvious that McCain and Huckabee have made a deal. It's those two RINOs against the only conservative left: Mitt Romney.
Okay, let me see if I can clear some things up for you. 1. Huckabee never said Romney was wrong for having a secret withdrawal date. He was wrong for lying about not having one. 2. Iraqi doesn't have a u in it. 3. It is silly to say that McCain and Huck have made a deal. One to two weeks ago the press was saying Thompson made a deal with McCain to stay in to get rid of Huckabee. McCain obviously didn't make a deal with both.
MR. ROMNEY: Well, there's no question but that — the president and Prime Minister al-Maliki have to have a series of timetables and milestones that they speak about. But those shouldn't be for public pronouncement.
