  • Thank you....This is very helpfull

  • I'm physically able to do it. But have yet to start on my 100,000 prostrations retreat. My tricky mind thinks up all kinds of excuses. Would love to hear from people who have completed their 100,000 prostration retreat. How does it feel like ? Did anything change ?

  • Funny and profound at the same time!

  • We prostrate to our Guru and the three jewels so our ego is lowered and when we prostrate from inside, it allows us to value the Dharma and have faith in it so the Dharma will go in and we will gain realization especially important to know during Dharma teachings.

  • 100,000 prostrations retreats is a great preliminary practice before receiving higher-Tantric initiation for those who are physically able to do it. There are other preliminaries like 100k mandalas, 100k Vajrasattvas, 100k Guru Yoga, 100k water offerings, 100k tsa-tsas or Buddha images.

  • I heard that the best place to prostrate is where Buddha became enlightened, Bodhgaya according to Sutra view. In Tantric view, the best place or object will be our Guru.

  • I love this teaching. I want to practise prostration and found this video very good. Thank you.

  • I really learn alot from this video here, is a very detailed teaching about prostration, talking about the Full length, Half and Normal Prostration methoed and gesture.....Love it and Thank you......

  • It is very fortunate Rinpoche stays here in Malaysia. Where else can we find a Guru like Tsem Tulku Rinpoche who is a loving, young, radiant and modern High Lama.

  • Rinpoche is so kind to ensure those who will be attending the pilgrimage to get the maximum benefit out of this.

  • If i'm not mistaken, i remember this teaching was given before the Pilgrimage trip to Gaden.....Rinpoche teaches us the correct way doing prostration and it does help alot, especially when it comes to purification....

  • "shoujian - .I heard that when Lama Tsongkhapa went to do his prostration, after the floor that he prostrated has his foot print im-printed. is it true?" Yes, it is true. Rinpoche has explained this before. It is a true story. At that time, Lama Tsongkhapa was in his prostration retreat and he did 3.5 millions prostrations. Very amazing!

  • well, its pretty amazing looking at people doing prostration on their way into the monastery too! They are really devoted person.

  • thank you Rinpoche, now I know more about prostration. The meaning and the proper way. Very informative.

  • wow didnt know that prostration can be so detailed and has a lot of meanings. I have a lot to learn, Thank you Rinpoche!

  • Prostrations is a beautiful activity that we can do with our body speech and mind especially if its related to the 35 confessional buddhas practice.

And if we are able to do with with full concentration the practice is truly joyful.

  • Lama Tsongkhapa did 3.5 million prostrations and afterwards he had a direct vision of Lama Tsongkhapa .

Wish I can complete my 100k in the shortest time.

  • I heard that when Lama Tsongkhapa went to do his prostration, after the floor that he prostrated has his foot print im-printed. is it true? but i guess it can be, after 3.5 million.

Isnt it amaizing how can a layman like even do like 10% of what Lama Tsongkhapa did. especially the 3.5 million prostration that Lama Tsongkhapa done did not affect his time for giving teachings and and pujas and stuff.

Thank you Tsem Rinpoche for giving us the propper instruction on doing prostration

  • Prostrations are very beneficial it reduces one's own deluded pride.I know of one person whose health improved tremendously after doing 100k prostrations

  • Thank you for your teachings Rinpoche ! So precious, so good! Now I know how good is to make prostrations, how practical!

  • Rinpoche's explanation is so clear - everything is explained, from the purpose and benefit of prostrations, to the signficance of each action in prostration.

And he's so kind, always giving us ways to practice even if we are not fully physically able to (like when people have problems with their knees). Even in his talks, I've seen him let older members of the audience sit on chairs at the same level as him, or with their feet facing him, because he doesn't want them to suffer.

  • Very profound Prostration teaching from Rinpoche. We should commit ourself to do it daily, as it's a good practise to build up our stamina. Rinpoche did mentioned prostration is also a good exercise for us, as we can gain a beautiful body, of course, when we do prostration, our motivation should not be tht reason, we should set our motivation as to purify all the negativity we have accumulated, surrender myself to buddha and practise dharma........

  • A great teaching on prostration for beginners. Looks really easy, I'm gonna start prostrating to my 2ft Lama Tsongkhapa statue tonight!

  • Prostration help us to purify our Body, Speech & Mind, is good to do it everyday, as it's also 1 of the preliminary practise. Keep it up and also a good exercise for those who has no time for gym....LOL...Cheers.....tsemtulku(dot)com

  • OMG. Rinpoche imitating a spider.

  • I have to say, as the laziest person in the world, even I am inspired to start doing prostrations when I see this video.. looks like it ain't so tough after all! hehe

  • are you that lazy?

  • i was at one time! lol

    (before i knew about buddhism)

  • Thank you Tsem Tulku Rinpoche. I am learning alot from you. I have a question - my Lama (who I only just met for the first time) showed me a prostration to do before my meditation and it is the same as the one you shoed but it does not put the hands on the crown. It goes - heart, ajna, mouth, heart - like that. Why could this be that I do not put the hands to the crown? He lives in another country and so I can't ask him myself at the moment. Thank you.

  • It's amazing how many religions have the bowing and prostration to the gound - islam, buddhist, ancient Israelites, eastern Christian orthodox and many more. The reason behind that is simple - submission to God, or basically the Supreme being.

  • it is just to show respect. To show respect to a person who is higher, or to something that is higher is to train yourself to be respectful to other people around you.

  • thank you very much i have been confused on some aspects of prostrations

    om mani padme hum

  • Thank you. It was very enlightening!

  • Teachings so special
