@afterdarkguitar It was just delay + the pitch shifter down one octave (12 semitones) i think - i may have mixed in some of the original guitar as well, but you should get it if you mess around :)
@TozzaMazza I do play it on the higher frets but i've pitch shifted a lower octave in as well as Matt uses an MXR blue box for the effect which does the same thing :)

you play the intro riff an octave lower than it should be. try learning the version plus an octave, its so much easier :)
