I saw him in Hobart 2004 I think, he really has developed more sounds and noises since that performance. I think those who he seem him as a one trick monkey really don't get the performance.

they see it is a visual gimmick and don't recognize that he's using it as an instrument... the sounds he's making are rarely presented in a context of music for a lot of people, and without a rhythmic backbone and no tonal center, a lot of people are not going to 'listen' properly

I'd also add that the sound quality here doesn't do him justice (no pun intended). See him live before forming a judgement, the sounds he creates are otherwordly. Dodging flying bloody glass is just adds to the experience :)
