  • bravo....good video....thanks for sharing.........

  • Would taping the cups work?

  • @Sophiad141 honestly probably not this gets heavy with the cups and lights added into it and if u are hanging i wouldnt see tap working u could try but i would hate to see u go through all the work and it slowly fall apart ?! i would recomend glue !

  • Great video, thanks for posting/sharing! I think I'm going to make 4 for each corner of my deck for 'party' lights year-round!

  • I liked the video and the step by step explaining.. I have watched alot of other vids to try and figure out how to do this and they were not as in depth so i was confused, yours was great , love the tinsel in the middle too...I will be making a bunch of them...Thank You

  • @hairteez69 awe thanks so much glad it was helpfull xoxo

  • Nice project... I'd like to try and make one.

  • I am going to attempt to make one tomorrow..! Yay I've always seen these but never knew how to make them, though they looked so simple. I wonder if instead of hot-glue we can use staples? To staple together the cups..do you recommend that?

  • @09moneyclip awe tag me in a pic on facebook or something ! and i have tried the staple gun and its a fail it cracked all my cups but u could try it

  • so the bummer is what happens when your lights stop working, and also will the glue hold up in the cold weather

  • @trish3724 if the lights stop working all u have to do is take 3 cups off and put new ones in ( not to hard i have done it ) and the glue holds up amazing in cold weather im in pa never had problems !

  • Also mine make a perfect circle ball... : )

  • I've made these for about 13 years and the way I put them together is by making 2 dome halfs and then I put the 100 strand lights in mine 25 on one side and 25 on the other... working from end to end... then I connect them together instead of adding each row to each other. The rest of the lights fill in the center of the ball. I also don't use hot glue because where I live it gets hot and the balls fell apart from the heat outside because the glue melted. I sell alot of them .. God bless : )

  • this is so pretty im going to try and make this with my boyfriend hopefully it works lol

  • @1144146 awe thanks so much and let me know how urs comes out ! xx

  • i had 1 that had a 2 channel function set in it but it fell apart so i just took the set out n threw the cups away

  • my hubby drills a stack at once with drill press.

  • I didnt use the 9oz.....The one I'm making is sooo big its over 100 cups....I didnt relize you said 9oz in the video and omg lol my sparle ball will be huge!

  • i wonder if we can paint the cups zebra n stuff?

  • @realfam1969 you could but i don't think it would look as nice when you light it up ? let me kno if u try !

  • @xoxoamandakisses true that makes sense...hmmm theres gotta be a way...now ya got me thinkin..lol-like maybe do a layer of zebra,on the bottom or top..etc...the rest clear..im gonna try this..find a way to make it look hot...and ill let ya know.. honestly i think i can somehow make it work...also...i wanna figure out a way to make one of those lights that look similar but theyre like wavy looking and white...ya kno which ones i mean right?they sell em at like ikea n stuff! luv those!

  • this is great fun, thanks for shareing x

  • @paranormalinsights thanks for watching !

  • so I went to the store to get all the stuff I needed to make these. got home and realized I knew of an easier way to put the holes in the cups without using a drill! A lighter! holding it right in the center of the bottom of the cup, without touching the flame to the cup, because that cause it to have black edges.... the hole just melted into perfectly! and it takes just seconds, and I don't have to mess with power tools! haha :) thanks for sharing this video! love it!

  • very cute. TFS

  • Will it like.. Catch on fire..?

  • @CrazyyWild21 none of mine have

  • haha my grandpa makes these and sells them at craft fairs :)

  • i love these things and yes i think a heart one would be pretty also.. i would like to see how you do that one. I had one years ago that i think i paid like 25.oo for and my ex-roommates cat ate right through the cord when i got it home.. the same day i'd bought it,:0(

  • i love love love your channel. but i have to point out the intro is a little off.

its "how to" not "too" (too refers to "also and in addition")

and "a lot" is not one word. two words. a lot.

kinda drives me insane to see typeos like that. i yes, i know, we all make them. im sure i have made at least one in this message to you. haha. just thought id let you know since your intro was so super cute and was really a forefront for your channel.

  • @thefadedprimadonna thanks im good with words but never writing them out (; xx im more on the idea side so thanks ill fix that xx

  • THATS SOOO CUTE GIRL...I WAS ACTUALLY GONNA SAY MAYBE WHITE WIRED LIGHTS WOULD LOOK BETTER? IDK =) SOOO FUN

  • @taleemulhaq awe thanks so much really means a lot !!!

  • o I really like that

  • That's really cool, I want one!! lol :) Looks really easy but cute too though!

  • We actually have one of these sparkle balls, my MIL gave it to my husband and i for Christmas a few yrs ago (it has red/green/clear lights) Have no idea where she got it but i love it anyway. So glad to see you making this. I love your DIY videos.

  • Hey. Im I just subscribed to u recently and just wanted to say I love the fact that you don't just stick to 1 area and your DIY projects are so cute and funky. would love to see more of them. keep up with all great stuff!!

  • cute :)

  • Cute idea. I think it would have been easier to drill through a few at a time while they were stacked. Also, will the Lights melt the cups? I know my Christmas lights get kind of hot.

  • @Nightmares03 yes we did too until my hubby tried it and wow was a hot mess the don't stay together and the drill bit gets caught in the plastic and the holes are way uneven ): no i never had any problems with the cups melting at all been making them for years !

  • thats very cute:):)

  • id love to see the valentine 1 if u cld plz do a quick tut 4 me thank u

  • @aimchatbot365 ill try and do one if i don't just shape the cups into a heart !

  • how long can you leave it on before it starts to get hot?

  • @misssiera311 i never really noticed them getting soooo hot where you would have to worry about go for a thicker plastic cup and should be great ! but again i wouldn't leave it on for days at a time !

  • love this idea.. I saw this about a year ago on She's crafty and totally forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me...

  • They are great for the summer. I have one my hubby aunt made for me. She also made one out of a flower pot. So now i know how to make thanks!!!

  • @Tonks1967 yes love outside for summer night too cute ! xoxo
