  • okay it is cruel...but that does look really awesome!

  • this is y i dont put pads or chains on my walker....it looks unnatural and painful. id go flat shod anyday!

  • umm, not very pretty, not cruel, just ugly

  • I don't really think this is very beautiful, I don't like the way padded horse look when they move. It is too exaggerated and over done for me. I won't get pulled into a debate about padding because there is a difference between soring and padding, and while I don't like padding, I don't think they are all mistreated. but I really don't think this is beautiful. Sorry

  • I cant stand the way they do this shit horses need to stay natrel gaited

  • No need to be polite with those people PiperLover, they are only animal ABUSERS and they dont give a shit about those poor horses, all they care is how they look.. and for us they look ridiculous and stupid ...

  • yes you do look stupid and ridiculous when you have no clue what you are talking about ..

  • its funny to me in every show ive ever watched they jerk on the horses mouth ..

  • ok for one many other breeds wear pads , the asb , the standard , and not to mention the therapeutic shoeing done with pads and ect .. and the chains have nothing to do with soring or acid or anything else .. wtf .. why do you comment when you dont know anything about anything ..

  • jerk on their mouths .. you have never been to a h/j show have you .. these horses aren't jerked on they are bumped .. trust me their mouths are what we call very soft .. the slightest pressure can throw their gait off ..

  • @wrxhenry thats because of the cruel bits they use. You don't need a shank that long to get a horse to do something. Even with out padding its still not good for them. Their hocks are a mess and the saddles they use sit on the weakest part of the horses back.

  • the acid they put on them is or at least where i live it is i love the un padded ones but the padded ones i cant stand their movement is so unatural no offence to anyone who likes them but i dont like to see oversided ( i mean to tall for the horse not fat) riders on three year olds!! and all the padded ones i see, when you look into their eyes they look so miserable! =( i hope im not offending anyone, the puropse of this comment is just to state how much i think pads are cruel!

  • i wuz there!!! and personally i think thats just cruel the chemicals or acids they put on the chains is illegal but people still do it any ways. i go to that show every year and have shown in it a couple of times.

  • soring has nothing to do with chains ...and chains aren't illegal

  • @wrxhenry but they are bad. They wear sores on the poor things ankles. You can look at any padded walking horse and see they are NOT happy and do NOT like their job. If they did they would have their ears perked and a pleasant expression on their face.

  • the pads weight less than 5 lbs to a horse of 950-1100 that is light and well i have never seen a horse go lame from being padded ... And ive been in the industry for 25+ yrs

  • far from blind seeings how i love the work and the new rules being enforced by the USDA to rid the industry of the shitty people ... and im sorry that your a person that knows nothing about the breed .... seeings how it isnt unnatural and it isnt straining .. and fyi the twh isnt the only breed to use pads or chains ... but well im sure you already knew that also .. since you know soooooo much .

  • I don't call this beautiful and what hurts them are the chemicals they put on under those chains.
