These guys are the reason I wanted to attend this show so much, but my folks wouldn't let me since I was only 11 y.o. I had to watch it on ABC's In Concert. There was eight bands and for the entire month of June that year, they showed two bands each week, I think it was Friday night at 11:30pm. What a time to be alive!!!
I and 4 friends went to cal jam 1 is there any dvd like the Woodstock movie . some time in the day I was laying on my back looking up i saw a girl with no top and sat up in time to see a bottle filled with water take my friend off an ice chest by hitting him in the head i though it was pretty funny he didnt
Amazing performance! there is a very ugly edit thou. Those were times when people used to go to gigs to actually see and enjoy the bands and not only to tell friends "I was there".
both Jams were like no other out door concert. Dons timing was perfect for both concerts. i was lucky enough to attend both, be there with great friends, and do all that stuff you teach your kids not to do, yet i share these precious memories with them and feel so left out. Everything was so organzied. Potty lines a bit long, but nothing but great memories. glad i still have my pics from that day, my ticket stub, newspaper clippings, paper hat, but most of all great memories. thank you Don
Thank you,Mr Don Branker, for letting us view these great performances, Cal Jam '74&'78, wish I was there ! I was at Live Aid in Philly, it was also great ! Thanks, Steve
There was an outdoor music theater, outside NW Chicago in the 80' & 90's beautiful huge place.I saw many concerts there. The powers to be leveled that land and put corporate Sears complex on it.I pass by there somtimes and cant believe all that went on there, all the energy that once filled that land is just a memory now.Kinda strange. Ozzy could get a crowd going like no other. It must have been an amazing experience. If only I had a time machine.

yeah, now there are actually that many people here in Ontario. Where they sung is now a mall and a bunch of shopping centers.
Back then it was country bumpkinville, the raceway and a ton of vineyards all around.
I live like 5 mins away from where this happened :)
