When the Ewing women get mad, clear the decks!! Loved it when Pam and Sue Ellen got mad-SMACKDOWN! The greatest show America has ever made. If the world owed America just one favour-it would be for giving us Dallas.
I take JR's side in this. JR is what he is, he always was a prick always will be a prick, but he's honest about it, and in his warped little way, nothing meant more to him than his family. Pam was always judgemental and would go on her high horse everytime someone else did something bad. Bobby was a horrible person for dating Jenna after they split up and divorced, but its ok for Pam to run around with Mark. Sanctimonious is the perfect word to describe her
One thing about DALLAS.. The female stars wore their clothes more than once which made them believable. Unlike DYNASTY where it was too campy and fake. Dallas was more about it's storylines rather than fluff and materialism.
". . . my sanctimonious little sister-in-law. . ."
JR is 100% correct here. Who is Pam to lecture him? Pam was the one that first convinced Bobby to get more involved in Ewing Oil but whenever she was no longer getting the attention she felt she deserved, she'd find some other guy to "calm [her] little hurts."
@jksonny I loved JR's statement after she slapped him. "Damn, I HATE that woman!" LOL As much as I love Pam, JR was speaking the truth about leaving Bobby high and dry..
@jksonny I don't think Pam was bipolar. She had a rough life. Raised by her Aunt & drunken father who was filled with Hatred. Her mother Rebecca ran out on them. Then finding out that Digger wasn't her father & she was the illegitimate daughter of Ranch hand Hutch McKinney, when Rebecca had an affair w/him. Learning that Digger killed him. then 2 misscarriages& not being able to carry a baby full term. + Loving Bobby & fighting JR took a toll on her. Her Identity was shaky but dealt with alot.
@jksonny She was in a Psychiatric hospital during the 1981-82 season. She got better once she adopted Christopher & had a little happiness before Katherine turned on her & joined forces with JR & interfered with her Marriage to Bobby. VP played Pam very well she was my favorite female lead on Dallas. I wish they could make one last reunion movie & bring the writers back & reunite Bobby and Pam before anymore of the orginal cast passes on. I'm a huge fan of Dallas
@jksonny I totally agree. Larry Hagman worked so well & had such high regard for Leonard Katzman who is the man who made DALLAS what it was & still is, the best Prime time Drama in TV History. Larry has the ability to bring back the class & continuity of the show and Executive Producing and even directing the final Dallas reunion show that Brings Bobby & Pam together & JR finally running Ewing Oil with John Ross & just let the fans forget that James ever exisited.Back to basics is what we need..
Yup !!! He did and it looked to me like he was going to defend himself if Bobby hadn't shown up in the helecopter. He did something to Cliff Barnes to anger her. By the way, thanks for the sub !!!!!
I can't figure out what purpose Kendall served at 'Ewing Oil', except maybe as window dressing. The company survived without a receptionist before this season.
A modest and understated observation: This was the best, best, best EVER scene with JR and Pam. Now I ask you, there couldn't possibly be any dissenters on this one, could there? What a beautiful, unholy hatred between these two -- never exceeded in all soap opera history!
ezycell, I agree that this was the best, best, best EVER scene with JR and Pam. Dallas was never the same after Pam/VP left the show and Pam crashed into the tanker.
@ezycell I do like this scene, but personally I like the 3rd season scene where Pam insults JR about John Ross's paternity (when they still thought Cliff was the father). Just because I love it when Pam says that Bobby wasn't the stud of Ewing Oil anymore and that "left the field wide open for you, but from what I hear, that left the field wide open". :)
smck2009, I agree that Pam is the best character on Dallas. I don't blame you for not buying any of the remaining DVD seasons now that she is gone. Bobby is also my favorite character on Dallas so I don't know if I will buy the last 4 years of the show on DVD or not.
What did JR say after Pam left the office? It sounded like he said "Pamela evil woman", but I wasn't sure if I caught that right.
Thanks for posting.
I always wondered what would be if the two ever fall in love. (I was thinking that in one episode, when he kissed heron the check, that they might have something going in the future.) He would never fall for a Barnes, though, but it would have been interesting if they did. (strange me.)
Kisa01, JR says "Dam, I hate that woman" after Pam slaps him. LOL I think it would have been interesting as well if JR and Pam would have fallen in love on the show.
JR is so bad, that hates good and kind Pam, on top he sleeps
her evil snake sister Katherine. Bad people like other bad people.

In this rare case, JR was justified. Pam could be a serious little bitch too. Oh the power of a TV show, lol.
