B/c I don't believe in signing without knowing the correct interpretation nor knowing about Dead culture. Deaf ppl have been oppressed by hearing ppl, so when hearing ppl take their language and don't use it correctly, it irks me. Be exposed to Deaf culture and ppl and see how they live. Learn to love them as a ppl instead of taking what was theirs and using it for your own purposes. That is my two cents on the subject.

Im seeing alot of critisim on your signing, and even though yours may not be perfect tecnique wise, i find your signing more valuable then alot of interpretations that ive seen, because you express yourself with your body and its easy to tell that you geuenuanly mean your worship, which is more then alot of people can say! So bravo for sharing your heart so openly and trying to do it in a different way then alot of people dare to attempt :)

I will only give a couple of examples. You can tell that you're not a 'signer' just by the way you sign b/c for the word comfort, it would be a lot smoother. Also, for the word, 'days,' you use the word 'life,' but 'days' does not make sense w/ this song. For shelter, it's not a sign that I've seen [we use a different sign]. Also, w/ the sign, 'stand', you use the word, 'continue.' I also have not seen the word, 'wonders' in how you do it.

Thank you for sharing your video. If I were you, I wouldn't pay attention to the ppl that can only speak negatively. Apparently their mother never taught them the phrase, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." Continue your worship the way God called you to do it and I'm sure ppl will get the gist of it.

if you are truely interested in signing asl correctly there is a signing worship music forum on yahoo that you can join that will give you the glosses(sign interpretation sheets) for the songs you wish to sing. It is awesome that you will be obedient to your calling even though you don't have the expierence. check out asl jess she has songs posted here in asl for you to watch... God Bless in your endeavor to worship in sign language.

The signing is not correct on this song. I used to take sign language classes as well as belong to a Deaf bible study so I know the correct way in signing. Dang, IF people are going to sign, then they better sign it correctly!

Thanks for your comment, but you neglected to tell me what I did wrong. This was my first time signing for a hearing audience and I was very nervous. My husband did the tags on this and I know this is not ASL, it would not be proper to call it that. I signed what was in my heart and what God lead me to do. I watched many others on youtube and did much research online since I have no one that can help me otherwise. I am wanting to learn the right way so how about you showing me what that is?

Okay, you asked what was wrong. I can tell you at least 2 things: one, you don't add the 'person' element to Savior. Secondly, you don't sign 'days' b/c that's literal. You would have to sign, 'life.' and 3rd., the word, shelter is not signed correctly.  It's apparent that you don't have experience in ASL. The thing is that IF one is going 2 learn sign language, then you have to learn the culture, the hx of the people and how to interpret correctly.

so what - you're not allowed to share what you learn on your way? i don't agree at all. that's like forbidding all those people to upload their rather horrible singing or instrumental pieces, or anything else that is not "correct", as you call it. who are you to say that? criticizing is good - to forbid something to show something he or she loves to do is totally narrow-minded nd doesn't make any sense on a platform like you tube.

@Kealamailani if you're going to sign Christian songs or watch them, you need to be open minded to the fact that everyone has different styles of worship (re: "shelter" (it was creative and mixing mime with signs is appropriate. You need to be constructively critical in a loving way. We worship "all day" or "life" not serious enough to be mean to her. "Continue" is standing as in not giving up! Don't tell people what "we use". Some signs are regional!

@Kealamailani if you are a christian, you would know not to talk to others like this. What would Jesus do...should be in your mind at all times. She was brave and was praising the Lord at she saw fit. That was beautiful Marcia, because it came from your heart! Don't let anyone get you down. :)

@Kealamailani -how can you say what is right or wrong she is worshiping and maybe you failed to remember there are several different signs for asl dang if your going to be negitive why dont you add a little positive as well
