do you have to use the adhesive? can you just use glue?

@lalategan You must use a non-water soluble adhesive which means an adhesive that is waterproof and frost proof because it is a flower pot and may be used outside. It is also a good idea to seal the terra cotta with polyurethane or another outdoor sealer so that the pot will not be effected by moisture. Also, after you grout it with sanded grout, you may want to seal the grout with a weatherproof sealer to ensure a long lasting mosaic creation.

What I don't understand is why are her pots covered in mostly grout? Add some stuff to them, don't be lazy lady! There's tons of stuff you can glue to those pots!

@Winter077 Remember mosaic is a personal preference. I, personally, put tesserae all the way to the top of the pot. It is usually covered by foliage but that's the way I like it. Some people like wide spaces and some put their pieces very close together. Don't you just LOVE to mosaic things???

Seal the pot first or the moisture will get behind the tiles and they will come off.

You could also use vibrant colors to make the design stick out more from the hazy color the grout gives it.

Please wear gloves and use a face mask when handling grout, this is heavy dust and dangerous to the lungs the grout is corrosive and will damage your skin.

@serialdad Yes, a lesson I learned after breathing in a little of it....silica has very bad effects on lungs. I had pain in my chest and kept coughing and hacking all day!
