Because of the negative fan feedback about Optimus' death in the Transformers 1986 movie, the G.I.Joe 1987 movie was rewritten and redubbed at it's final stage to change Duke dying to Duke narrowly surviving.
I always thought he worried too much about being in Optimus' shadow. If he'd have had half the confidence he had in the movie, he coulda been great. As it was he was always eager to give up the leadership to Optimus, even when he was a half dead Zombie =/
@storm626 He's fantastic regardless. There someone big that wanted to sabotage Rodimus Prime. It's no conspiracy. Just follow the negativity. Rodimus Prime was popular liked. Considerable the greatest animated movie ever. Starring Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime. Hot Rod was light.
@storm626 Thing is.....he finally realised he didn't have to worry about being in the shadow of Optimus in burden hardest to bear but then they brought back O.P, i think they should have just left Rodimus as leader then made an actual season 4 where Optimus returned
@PrimalWolf2006 Aye I know about HBTB, but he was so quick to drop the Matrix at every opportunity he lost alot of credibility with me. And by the way, there was a season 4, it was just aired in Japan, called Headmasters. It wasn'ta bad show actually, but Super God Masterforce was better.
@PrimalWolf2006 Well it was a kind of transitional series wasn't it. It had Rhodimus and Ultra Magnus and all them but killed off Prime and the story was fairly similar to Rebirth. You could say it's not a 4th seaosn in the traditional sense, but it does link S3 and the Japanese seasons, making a 'sort of' S4.
There is sometihng nostalgic about the heavy keyboard 80's cheese heroic theme tune. The cynic amongst us snort in derision but the inner child smiles in glee!
I saw this in the theater the week it came out. You wouldn't believe the number of people, kids and adults, who cried when Optimus Prime died. The movie kicked ass.
@sirfuzzyman Three movies came out the same week in 1986; Transformers, Stand By Me, and another I can't remember... These three movies were rated PG (because the ratings consisted of only G, PG, and R at the time). Because of these three movies and their complex and "adult" content, the ratings system introduced PG-13 shortly thereafter. When G.I.Joe the movie came out in 1987 it was rated PG-13.
@DraftMasterJohn I completely forgot about the "limited" rating system and how it all began to change years later. I always find it interesting that PG rated movies in the 70's and early 80's had nudity and wonder just what a movie had to have to get an R rating. Now movie makers have to fight to keep an R rating. I guess that's why DVD's come with so many extras and deleted scenes.
@sirfuzzyman Not really, people have become scared of nudity, sex scenes, violence scenes, suggestive scenes.. My wild guess is that goverments over the world, juste want to believe that the world is really a nice place and nobody suffers.. load of tosh...
@sirfuzzyman I know what you mean, I never saw it in theatre but I rented it alot as a boy and I own it now. I cried once myself, I think I did once as well when they killed Iron Hide and the autobots on the shuttle. The original transformers series aka G1, is the best of any transformers they could ever come up with! Cartoon, 3D, Movie, etc.!
@sirfuzzyman I was one of them (kids) but it has taken me 30 years to admit it, lol. This movie was (IMO) the most groundbreaking animation to date. With the exception of the Scorponok scene in the first Bay movie, nothing new can touch the classic stuff.
its ironic how animated character look more alive than that cgi stuff from bayformer$ sorry they look dead to me thake the death of Optimus Prime at the end of this video Prime's eyes maybe a blue sensor but i can see pain in them...this is something bay cant do his ''giand dead zombies'' well never be alive
Excellent choice of song. (of course Stan Bush DID write the song with the Transformers in mind :P )
Only drawback is your sound balancing, to the trained ear, the original score of the movie is audible, which detracts from some really awesome parts of the new song.

@storm626 actually Headmasters was a seperate series........i'm talking about the possibility of Season 4 being longer than just the Rebirth
