You have to kill the ecologist Jackal talks to at the meeting in a side quest then loot his corpse. If using the Gauss rifle, you can kill both Jackal and his contact, reaping all the benfits, but the guards in the area are EXTREMELY tough.

I think Garik's good ending has something to do with him when he's still in the scientist bunker. If you help him complete his job he will depart and appear in Pripyat again. On the way he will encounter mercs. So I'm working on this in my second playthrough. I'm not going to help him in the bunker.

Actually, it depends on how many military make it out alive - you essentially need to have EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER survive up to and including the final mission. Garik's good ending is the hardest to get out of all of them!

Thank you. What do you mean by 'every single character'? All of them in the game or only in the evacuate mission? (the latter seems impossible to me on Master difficulty)

By the way, on my playthrough, Tremor, Senka, and Snag are dead.

Only the people that can take part in the evacuation - which is every single Military you see alive that isn't scripted to die like the Sentry, or Captain Tasarov's sniper. It's incredibly challenging and took me a few HOURS to get out of the Monolith ambush with all of Tasarov's team.

Tremor and Senka always die if you do certain sidequests. Snag's fate is up to the player - I save him usually.

Well, in the underground place under the burnt farm I did find Barges, one of Kardan's friend and 2 or 3 more guys in a cave on the plateau but I don't think they had anything to do with Garik.

How do you get the good ending for Garik (the guy that takes you from pripyat in the other 2 zones and back)? At one point on the main base in pripyat, he tells me about some mercenaries (something about a deal) and then I go to kowalsky and he sends me to kill the leader of the mercenaries with a sniper. After completing that mission ("one shot" is called) I still don't get Garik's good ending...

"Free Stalker" ? Wouldn't "Loner" (just like in the first STALKER) would be more appropriate ? You need to see in what context the words are used, not a direct translation. Otherwise, it looks good.
