@robelinda2 rob can't find this anywhere else. Can u please upload the whole of this video. It would be a great treat to watch lillee's career summary in vintage footage.
Some useful facts for the bozo argument. During Lillee's career from 70/71 to 83/84, Australia toured the sub continent in 79 (India) when Lillee was still banned from World Series, Pakistan in 1980 when he toured and Sri Lanka in 82 when he also toured and Pakistan in 82 when he didnt. Not much in the way of skipping tours there. I'd stay off the drugs son.
Great bowling action. Probably the best I've seen. For me though, its Wasim Akram and Waqar Yunis when it comes to aggression and making the ball talk. Also cant forget Malcolm Marshall and whispering death Michael Holding
what a bowler..the only player i get goosebumps watching..no kidding..the bowling action, theatrical appealing and the obvious of all, the talent ..awesome cricketer..I also have big respect for him for taking up the hardest job in cricket i.e to teach Indian bowlers to bowl fast on Indian pitches ..when the rest ridiculed for that matter it continues even now..Great cricketer and i will cut all of ur throat if talk bad abt him..ok cut ur hand if u write bad :)
ALL PAKIS WISH THEY WERE WHITE LIKE IMRAN KHAN, BUT SADLY, PAKISTAN IS A NATION WHICH IS 95& NIGGGGER, WORSHIPPING A WHITE GOD LIKE IMRAN KHAN, BECAUSE MAJORITY PAKIS ARE BLACK AS COAL
@Imrankniazi, how are statistics loving viewers spoiling cricket videos ? are those statistics being forcefully shoved up your ass you idiot ? If you don't like anything being written, just watch the video and keep orgasming over the sight of the 'great man' ! To you your lilleeland, to me my reality. Seriously what a retard !
@fahadhkhan What is reality? A few numbers on cricinfo that are supposed to reveal everything about cricketing history over a period of 130 years?
A true cricket lover (not a man with a specific agenda of hypothesis testing) would take the trouble to gather a variety of opinions and analysise stats in context in order to fairly evaluate players.
Is that your intention? Or does an already made conclusion drive you to hunt for reasons in order to justify them?
Statistic-loving whores are spoiling cricket videos.
Just enjoy the great man bowling, ye retards. One of the finest ever to pick up the cricket ball. If you have no spectrum to judge cricketing greatness apart from random numbers on cricinfo, life must be sad in Lalaland!
@Imrankniazi Rather than being a retard yourself and personally attacking those who disagree, defend your hero with logic and statistics. If statistics don't mean anything to you, then you can continue to lick lillee's boots. Yes lillee was the one of the greats, but he did not prove himself in the toughest bowling conditions. Over a 15 year career, why was he able to play just 3 tests in the subcontinent ? Coz he frequently skipped tours to protect his average.
@fahadhkhan "Over a 15 year career, why was he able to play just 3 tests in the subcontinent ? Coz he frequently skipped tours to protect his average."
How did you reach that conclusion? Do you know the reason behind every tour that he didn't participate in? Or is it one of those pseudo-intellectual guesses by an armchair expert who's never seen the man bowl or read about him?
Stats are not bad but over-reliance on them to understand cricket does not provide a broad enough spectrum.
Lillee is just too complete of a bowler, I know there were so many bowlers at his time and after but no one appeals to me more then this man. People talk about Michael Holdings approach to the wicket was so deadly and it was indeed like a silent killer he did strike em out,but Lillee running in gathering all that moment then rocking back into that most beautiful action I've ever seen makes me forget all and every fast man that ever lived!!! He was just too complete of a bowler! Magnificent!!!
@toursanxterme11 check out his record outside of england and australia...its absolutely pathetic. A complete bowler should be able to perform outside his home conditions. Malcom Marshall was the most complete bowler, he averaged under 25 in every country that he played in.
@fahadhkhan Brov i agree with you 100% I'm not talking statistics here, his approach to the wicket his action that devastating delivery stride and then following through so damn aggressively.... that's what made him such a magnificent site! apart from that i do agree he struggled in the sub-continent but lets be honest except for a few no one was happy bowling fast here...remember Sylvester Clarke? and the bricking incident???? that might give u an idea!!!
@toursanxterme11 I definately agree bro, bowling in the subcontinent is a back breaking job. And there was no finer sight than lillee bowling in Australia, England or NZ...phenomenal action. I just disagree with the fact that he is often rated as the best ever. Marshall was the greatest in terms of consistency of performance in every condition. But yeah, lillee was a magnificient sight !
@fahadhkhan Perverse nonesense. Look up Lillee's 11-wicket haul in Auckland and his performance in NZ.
As for the other countries, South Africa didn't play cricket then. Lillee did get 7/27 or something like that in an unofficial "test" against them in J'burg though.
He only played ONE test in West Indies with a broken back and had to return home. Did not play a test for the next 18 months. Never toured India and only really failed in Pakistan and has a sample size of 3 test there. Big deal?
@fahadhkhan I know 2 names that did amazingly anywhere, one is perhaps the fastest bowler anticipated (not talking about C J Kortwright) and the other the finest West Indies ever produced!!! both had a common sir name though Marshall!!! Malcolm Marshall and Victor Marshall...Malcolm obviously played test cricket with great success but Victor gave away an arm to discontinue before the war!...I've only read about him and read once that C J said he was around a yard or two faster then him!
@anandecy3035 But still a great performance nethertheless in a time with less silly rules and restrictions on fast bowlers, how times have changed now with those massive bats and medium pace length and line bowlers, bring back the 70's, 80's proper cricket.
i do not like the angle used to show the matches..i wish they showed the ball from the bowlers end cause u can see the swing and evrything the line and length used
Rob...could you possibly get Imran in Sydney '...same Series..he got 12-fer and outbowled Lilleie..
