I don't do drugs and I know the USSR was formaly an atheist nation, but there we also russians who had secret get together to practice faith. Stalin was raised by catholic monks.

You don't know how the future will become. Germany and Japan joint together in WWII, these where also strange partners. And the Chinese have trouble with chinese muslims in their backyard.
