You have a really big, round, tubby sound that I like! The changes were all there, you used good licks, swing feel was consistent...damn dude, way to kick ass!
dam man you got ur notes running through good....i had a question ....r u reading any music while ur playin or r u doing it off the top of ur dome?????????? but keep it up man
im 14 and aspiring to be a professional tenor saxophonist. i was just wondering about your tone.
i play a 6* vandoren T25 mouthpiece.
i practice overtones, subtones, lip slurs (octave slurs), full range of long tones, and several altissimo exercises. what kinda exercises did/do you do to get ur tone the way it is ? thanks alot man.
You are insane at sax, how many years you been playing? You are way better than me, how can improve at impro with some of the licks you use. Ive passed my grade 8 recently with distinction and Im looking to improve now Ive finished my grades
sounds great...only advice i have is to not attack every change on the bridge the same way(meaning dont use the same 1-3-5 pattern on every change on the bridge) for example on the bridge (in ur key) its Cmaj/Bb-7, Eb7/ Abmaj/ F#-7,B7/Emaj
u used the same pattern on each 2,5 and each pattern stars on the root. It sounds good but its choppy and u want fluidity in ur lines.
sick man.

either I'm imagining things or that's the most epic bass ever.

You really need to throw a piano in there, and mic up the bassist. The overall band is a bit bland. However the actual sax playing is very good.

Thanks, I am a huge fan of Joshua redman I try to see him live when I can but jazz shows are expensive for high school kids.
Im heading to UMKC in Kansas City. Im trying to get to NYC but that might be graduate school stuff.
