Pretty good job, but you rush in some places - if you were playing with a drummer, it would've sounded sloppy. I learned this piece 30 years ago, but now can only shit my way through a few bars, so if you want to keep it in your repertoire, play it once a week - it's easy to forget some of the aquatarkus parts! And yeah, why no organ or minimoog?
Tarkus is one of my all time favorite songs an this is a fantastic rendition of the organ/synth/bass guitar version originated by a phenominal prog. rock group who started it all.
ya know .... i saved this a long time ago and listen to it alot .... you are an amazing pianist ......i'm in awe of your talent .... thanks again for this ..... i wish others could hear this ..... this should easily have half a million hits on this vid .... :)
All I have to say is I didn't fall off my chair. IMHO there's no interpretation here, just mere imitation, I think Keith's dynamics are much more expressive, and the musical phrasing which is so crucial somehow dissolves here. Isao sports great speed and precision though .
i wasn't too convinced of this being good until 0:24 and i saw he had the emotion required to play this song accurately. all you need is that weird shoestring headband and an unbuttoned hawaiian shirt and you'll not only have the keith emerson touch, but the look as well.
Genius level playing of a masterpiece. This is the most fluent and 'spirited' version of ELP I've heard - and that's a lot of attempts. This guy is an inspiration - to keep trying! He shows that it IS possible.
awesome and very accurate job------was hoping for a little singing----"has the dawn........."just as a little contrast,,that's all,to your great playing--------how long, how many hours to work it out?
Guy, you are UMBELIEVEBLE!!! Emotioning!!! You are the best cover I have ever seen!!! Congratulations!!! My egards for you!!! (Don't you have a progressive band???) God bless you very much!!!
Please Where could be able the score The year of the cat of Al Steward? Some of you has or knows it the place from which it is possible to be unloaded? Thanks, beforehand.
The original scored for piano, then adapted for the trio. Sadly never performed by Keith, only the 'speed' version when in the band, Aliens with Extraordinary Ability exists.
Practice makes perfect. Now what he needs is a screaming B3, an excess of testosterone, a pair of tight black leather pants, a fearsome looking dagger to wield, and a big set of balls to bring it all together. Oh yes, one more thing: The 'X-Factor' that only a precious few in many millions are born with, like Keith Emerson himself. But Isao dude, you're still cool!
I can hardly imagine a greater compliment to Keith Emerson. This rendition is as intense and virtuosic as the original! I am quite impressed!! Subarashii!!
Very nice! I especially like the way you execute the synth part at the beginning of Eruption filling in the chords by crossing the hands over. Also, you play the improvised section in Stones of Years with more of a jazz swing feel than the original. Totally sweet!
Hi,He can play so well because he practices! ;-) It's by Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. The music isn't in print anymore, but I have a copy if you'd like it.
