My d8b reacts strange since a while. I boot it up, and the faders make strange noises and the leds are out of controll. software also doesnt react the way it should..
Any Tips? I´m living in Germany and do´nt know where to send the console to repair it :((
I'm gonna have money next year To make my OWN studio! and your the only one I could Ask but you live In UK or wherever :( I would pay up though man If you could come to USA and help set up my Studio!
Ok Thanks for thee quick reply ^^. I have an last question ( BOORING) with 150€ what are the more neutral ( best?) monitors i can have in your opinion?
@AlterBridge81 No, this is a standalone mixer and it has optical cards for outputs, the computer has optical inputs. They connected via adat light cables.
i want my own home studio!! im thinking on studying audio engineering after i finish my studies in computer technologies (programming), until then i think i better be well informed of what i need to get
Go for an intern job at a local studio (remember you wont get paid) pay alot of attention,,of course if u have decent money just buy some gear and start having fun. 5k should get u a nice entry level pro setup at your house<<
Wow, this is really good looking. I also really liked that you have two different types of speakers, so you get a good mix all-over. That's my definition of a good sound-tech.
i have a question, how come u need 3 different preamps? u could just use one for recording everything, since basically all the preamp is connected to a microphone.
Your studio is amazing. Most of the drum mics you use are ones that I have looked to buy, especially the two condensers. I especially love how clean your studio is, many times when I see a video of a band's recording sessions, the studios are cluttered and/or messy.
Really nice Schehf! Awesome to see that you guys made such a professional studio! I'm really impressed! Now you and your band can start impressing the world!
Wow very nice I will never have any of this stuff. Do you only do covers of InFlames? How was this funded do you rent out this space or something. I could spend years in there messing with all that gear though man.
That is some really expensive gear you got there! You make me feel really poor with my Guitar rig 3 and my DMX6fire 24/96 sound card haha :D. Goodluck recording and keep up those awesome In Flames-covers up!
Ahaha, that was the first time I have ever heard your voice. I really enjoy the German language and accent on English. Pretty sweet setup for now. Keep on rockin' man. Love your covers.
You have the best studio videos. Really detailed. I really wish you had these videos up when i first started audio recording! Great job and MAKE MORE!! lol
I've never, like EVER jused any "great" recording studio gear, like you guyes have.. Just one question: Where do you get the money from? ^^

Amazing, well done and congratulations!
PS: LOVED THE BASS TONE OF YOUR VOICE ON LONG VOWELS XD (You Germans are born musicians hah =P)
Wonderful place, wish I could have one like that in basement. ^^
I have a question - you were studying sound engeeneering on University? Do you have some perspectives for the future, looking forward for a good job? I'm asking, cause I'm planning to begin such studies next year, but I'm still hesitating.
vielen vielen dank dass du das alles machst mit den tutorial videos das muss ein haufen arbeit sein^^ ich kann den teil über gitarren-amp recording kaum erwarten

Can you please explain with more details how yo setup the mackie D8B with your computer?
alfierys1 1 year ago
@alfierys1
d8b has adat cards, the computer has an adat soundcard
then I connect the in and outputs with adat cables, that's it.
When you connect Midi and Wordclock cable as well
you can control start/stop... with the mackie too.
If you have software version 5 on the mackie, you can use the d8b as a control for cubase to mix, faders...
schehf 1 year ago
@schehf but only the 8 Fader-thing, right?
My d8b reacts strange since a while. I boot it up, and the faders make strange noises and the leds are out of controll. software also doesnt react the way it should..

WirSindRocker 1 year ago
@WirSindRocker
schehf 1 year ago

What do you use for the interface into your cpu? If you have 24 channel outputs from the D8B do you have a PCI card that has 24 input channels?
kbhope123 2 years ago
my d8b has 24 channel adat outputs.
That is 3 adat light cables
and I have a RME PCI Soundcard that
has also 3 Adat Ins and Outs, so 24 In and Out.

That depends on the guitar player.

so if you mic a amp you go in the recording room
but if you go direct you record in the control room.

Sorry, you are right. But I meant the AKG D 112.

Preamping is not usual for mics.
It is necessary !!!
Your mixer preamps your mic as well.
We just use very good outboard equipment to do that.
They can deliver a way better sound.
and when it gets to gain up a lot, they are necessary !

Wonderful place, wish I could have one like that in basement. ^^
I have a question - you were studying sound engeeneering on University? Do you have some perspectives for the future, looking forward for a good job? I'm asking, cause I'm planning to begin such studies next year, but I'm still hesitating.
I'd thankful for any piece of advice.
Rock on! ^^
