@itsboochiebihh if you put on a cream base product before rolling your hair. but even when set wet you will get a stretched look b/c thats what the rods do is give you the ablity to stretch your hair when rolling your hair. it will set better to if your hair is wet

Oh, and the flakes are most likely from leaving the conditioner in. I try to leave a little in always, but some of them flake when mixed with other creamy products...the whip mixed with it probably didn't help. Maybe try a diff conditioner with their whip?

They came out nicely. The flacking problem that you had, maybe you can use extra virgin oil to run down each curl, after you take the rods out. I just finished watching SimplYounique, "Flexi Rod Set on Natural Hair (Attempt #2)". She used oil on hers, I think it may help, although she didn't have a flaking problem afterwards. Again, nice results.
